Reddit shared in its transparency report covering July to December 2025 the Philippine government’s attempts to have certain posts removed from its social media platform.
According to the report, Reddit received 12 removal requests from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Philippine National Police (PNP), involving 74 posts that they wanted removed.
Reddit said it did not remove the posts, which reportedly concerned allegations against several government officials and prominent personalities.
Reddit emphasized that it does not remove content involving criticism of public figures and allegations of corruption.
“None of the reported content was removed as there were no Reddit Rules violations and the content involved criticism of public figures, claims of their involvement in corruption, and general commentary on newsworthy events,” Reddit said.
Meanwhile, Reddit is reportedly facing a challenge after the Philippine government required the platform to establish an office in the Philippines or risk having its operations in the country halted.
