We love calling things a “red flag” these days.

One typo? Red flag.
Didn’t say thank you fast enough? Red flag.
Looked tired on Zoom? Yep, red flag.

But here’s the truth:
Not everything awkward or imperfect is a warning sign.

Sometimes, it’s just being human.
Maybe they were nervous.
Maybe they had a long day or just got rejected.
Maybe they’re doing their best while life is throwing a lot at them.

Yes real red flags exist. But if we label every small mistake or off-moment as one, we’re not being smart we’re being unfair.

Let’s not confuse bias for good judgment.

Look deeper. Hire with heart.
