Soon, the hallways will once again be filled with familiar footsteps, uniforms, and the excitement of a new academic year. But before the first lectures begin, let's get acquainted with the people who help shape the College of Allied Health Sciences.

There are people who earn respect because of the position they hold, and there are those who earn it through the way they make others feel.

Beyond the title of Associate Dean is an educator whose presence has never been defined by intimidation, but by the confidence he gives to those around him. There is something reassuring in the way you welcome conversations, listen without judgment, and remind students that they can approach you without hesitation.

Many associate leadership with distance. You have shown that it can also mean being present.

Your standards have always remained clear, and when situations call for firmness, you never hesitate to uphold them. Yet even discipline, in your hands, has always carried fairness. It is never about asserting authority, but about helping students understand the responsibility that comes with becoming professionals.

Perhaps that is why so many students find comfort in your guidance.

You have created an environment where ideas are heard, efforts are recognized, and every student is given room to learn, make mistakes, and grow. Your support extends beyond classrooms, reaching student organizations, campus initiatives, and the countless moments where encouragement is needed just as much as instruction.

The respect you receive has never relied on fear.

It comes from consistency. From humility. From treating every person with the same dignity regardless of their role. It comes from leading in a way that reminds us that kindness and competence were never meant to exist separately.

The lessons we remember most are rarely the ones written on presentation slides. More often, they are found in the people who showed us what genuine leadership looks like through everyday actions.

The AWENG Publication extends its warmest birthday greetings to Prof. Myra Michelle R. Guzman, Dean of Student Affairs.
