Ayon sa Department of Health (DOH), umabot sa 5,000 ang bagong kaso ng HIV sa Pilipinas mula July hanggang September 2025. Sinabi ni Health Secretary Teodoro Herbosa na tinatayang 30% ng mga bagong kaso ay 18 taong gulang pababa, kaya lalo siyang nababahala dahil panghabambuhay na gamutan ang kailangan ng mga taong may HIV.

Dahil sa patuloy na pagtaas ng kaso, kabilang na ang iniulat na 500% na pagdami ng HIV cases sa mga kabataang Pilipino sa nagdaang mga taon, nananawagan ang DOH na ideklarang national public health emergency ang HIV situation sa bansa. May available na libreng at confidential na HIV testing at gamutan sa mga government hospital at treatment hubs, at hinihikayat ang publiko na umiwas sa risky sexual behavior, magpa-test nang maaga, at sumunod sa payo ng mga lisensyadong health professionals.

Sa dulo, usapang buhay ito, hindi lang statistics. Mas mabuting magpa-check, magtanong sa doktor, at piliing maging responsable kaysa magsisi sa huli. Ang tunay na pagmamahal sa sarili at sa taong mahal mo, ipinapakita sa pag-iingat.
