(GTCD) is celebrating a remarkable achievement as its talented team clinched the First Runner-Up title in the highly competitive on-the-spot cake decorating competition at the Min-TVET TechnoSkills Festival. The event, held at the Apo View Hotel, showcased the incredible skill and resilience of GTCD's Hospitality Management students.

Under the guidance of Team Leader and Coach ๐‰๐จ๐ก๐ง๐ฆ๐š๐ซ ๐†๐ž๐ซ๐š๐ซ๐œ๐š๐ฌ, the GTCD Piping Masters team, composed of ๐‡๐š๐ง๐ง๐š๐ก ๐‚. ๐†๐ฎ๐ž๐ซ๐ซ๐ž๐ซ๐จ and ๐Š๐ฒ๐ฅ๐ž ๐‚๐ก๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐š๐ง ๐. ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐š๐ ๐š, demonstrated exceptional creativity and determination throughout the challenging competition.

The journey to the podium was not without its hurdles. According to team member Hannah Guerrero, the initial plan faced a significant setback due to a product defect in a crucial ingredient. Coach Johnmar Gerarcas, who courageously expanded his coaching scope from primarily Cake Decorating to multiple events this year, reflected on the fulfilling journey. This system aims to streamline student services by managing grades, personal information, and billing through a centralized platform.

Mr. Augustus Caesar Abo-Abo highlighted how the process of accessing the portal is being rolled out in phases:

๐‘ท๐’‰๐’‚๐’”๐’† 2 involves accessing the student portal via the Essentiel app. Students can download the app, select the school, Gabriel Taborin College of Davao, and log in using their credentials.

Right after the breakthrough session, Dr. Cherry Mae Manual took the stage to present clear and structured guidelines on the accessibility of the student portal and the Student Management System (SMS), which will utilize a device called KEY FOBS for student identification on campus. This device will soon be available at the cashier's office, with an announcement to follow regarding distribution.

Dr. Manual also introduced the implementation of the Learning Management System (LMS) for virtual or online classes, primarily using Microsoft Teams.

On September 19, 2025, Gabriel Taborin College of Davao Foundation, Inc. (GTCD) carried out a comprehensive fire drill aimed at reinforcing emergency preparedness across its campus. The simulation was led by the Bureau of Fire Protection โ€“ Bunawan Fire Station, under the supervision of FO3 Mark Anthony Quitos, in close coordination with GTCDโ€™s Safety and Security Committee.

The Acquaintance Party 2025 was a success, carrying the theme "Friends & Trends: Connected by Style, United by Fellowship." Students from different year levels came together to celebrate not only fashion and fun but also the true spirit of friendship and unity. The night was filled with music, laughter, and exciting moments that created memories to last a lifetime.

This wonderful event was made possible through the hard work and dedication of the Student Body Organization (SBO), together with the support of the different organizing teams, who ensured that every detail was meaningful and enjoyable for everyone. Their teamwork and creativity turned the celebration into more than just a party โ€” it became a symbol of connection and fellowship within the student community.
