Bagong Simula, Bagong Pangarap

Muling pagbubukas ang pintuan ng Colegio de San Juan de Samar para sa panibagong yugto ng pagkatuto. Ngayong Hunyo 8, 2026, sabay-sabay na babalik sa mga silid-aralan ang mga mag-aaral mula Junior High School hanggang Senior High School para sa Academic Year 2026-2027.

Ayon sa Department of Education, opisyal na magsisimula ang klase sa buong bansa sa petsang ito bilang bahagi ng pagbabalik sa June-to-March school calendar.

Nakatutok ngayon ang CSJS sa “Project Handa” ng DepEd. Kumpleto na ang sanitation efforts, classroom maintenance, at learning materials. Nagsagawa rin ng training ang mga g**o upang mas maging epektibo ang pagtuturo sa ilalim ng MATATAG Curriculum.

Ang school year na ito ay hindi lang basta balik-eskwela. Hamon ito sa bawat Juanian na magpursige, mag-aral nang mabuti, at dalhin ang pangalang “Colegio de San Juan de Samar” nang may karangalan. Para sa mga Grade 7 at Grade 11, welcome sa inyong bagong journey. Para sa mga Grade 10 at 12, ito na ang final stretch ninyo bago graduation.

Six Educators Rise as Beacons of Dedication, Recording 44.44% BEED and 50% BSEd English Passing Rates

COLEGIO DE SAN JUAN SAMAR, Lavezares N. Samar – In the quiet hours before dawn, when the weight of ambition meets the resolve of the human spirit, a new chapter was written for Colegio. The Professional Regulation Commission’s release of the March 2026 Licensure Examination for Teachers results stands as a testament not merely to numbers, but to the enduring truth that discipline, guided by purpose, yields victory.

Today, CSJS proudly lifts its voice in congratulations to five of its sons and daughters who have crossed the threshold from student to steward of learning—now rightfully bearing the title *Licensed Professional Teachers*.

From the *Bachelor of Elementary Education* program, whose passing rate reached *44.44%*, we honor:

A percentage tells of performance. But behind each decimal lies a story of sleepless nights, of sacrifices made by families, of lectures revisited until understanding became certainty, and of a faith that refused to waver when doubt whispered otherwise.

The *44.44%* for BEED and *50%* for BSEd English are not just statistics for a report. They are markers of resilience. They are proof that Colegio’s commitment to molding teachers of competence and character continues to bear fruit, even in the face of an examination that demands both intellect and fortitude.

To pass the LET is to be entrusted. There is no deadline for a mother’s love. No overtime pay for the nights she stayed awake. No byline for the stories she helped us write with our lives.

This Mother’s Day, we pause not just to give flowers, but to recognize the women who are our first editors — the ones who corrected our first words, wiped our first tears, and taught us that kindness is never out of style.

Mothers are journalists of the home. They document every milestone, from first steps to graduation marches. They fact-check our excuses. They break the news gently when the world is harsh. And like the best Editor-in-Chief, they believe in our potential even when our drafts are messy.

"𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝐋𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐊𝐢𝐭𝐚.": Laila S. Sorio, BSED Major in English Magna Cum Laude, Inspires Class of 2026 to Carry Their Light Forward*

The 21st Commencement Exercises of Colegio de San Juan Samar closed with a moment that set hearts ablaze—literally and figuratively—as Laila M. Sorio, BSED Magna Cum Laude, delivered the message on behalf of the Class of 2026, lampara in hand.

Holding the lamp aloft, Sorio transformed a simple symbol into a powerful charge for her fellow graduates:

“Before I end, let me return to this lampara, the lamp I am holding. This lampara is more than just a light. It is a symbol of every challenge we faced, every tear we shed, every fear we overcame, and every victory we celebrated. It represents the guidance of our mentors, the love of our families, and the support of our friends. And now, my fellow graduates… it is our turn to shine.”

In her speech, Sorio reminded the Class of 2026 that their education was never meant to stop at knowledge. “We are not just bearers of knowledge, but bearers of light,” she said. “Each of us carries our own lampara, our own light. Let it shine in the darkness. Let it guide those who are lost. Let it remind us that no matter how hard the journey, we can rise, we can persevere, and we can illuminate the world around us.”

Drawing parallels between endings and beginnings, she told her batchmates: “We are not here to end the book of our lives, but only to finish a chapter of our book. Like the sunrise and the sunset, like dawn and twilight, one chapter ends so another may begin, and our light carries on.”

The crowd was visibly moved as Sorio ended in Waray, turning the lampara into a collective call to action:

“Kun madulom man an dalan, sayo, duha, tulo, MAY LAMPARA AKO, MAY LAMPARA KA, MAY LAMPARA KITA. TARA PASU-NAUN TA!”
“If the road gets dark, one, two, three— I HAVE A LAMP, YOU HAVE A LAMP, WE HAVE A LAMP. LET’S GO LIGHT THE WAY!”

With that, the gymnasium erupted in applause, chants, and the waving of cellphone lights—hundreds of modern lamparas answering her call.

Sorio, who graduated Magna Cum Laude in Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in English, leaves CSJS not only with academic distinction but with a legacy of service and voice. As future educators, the Class of 2026 steps into a world that often feels dim. Yet, as their class representative declared, they do not walk empty-handed.
