FEASTS & SOLEMNITIES FOR THE MONTH OF JUNE

June is truly a grace-filled month in the life of the Church. As the month dedicated to the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, it is filled with beautiful celebrations that deepen our faith and remind us of God’s love, mercy, and presence in our lives. Here are some of the important feasts and solemnities we celebrate this June:

June 7 — Corpus Christi (Solemnity)
The Solemnity of Corpus Christi honors the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist—His Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. This celebration reminds us that the Eucharist is the source and summit of Christian life. Jesus truly remains with us in every Holy Mass and in every consecrated Host.

June 12 — Most Sacred Heart of Jesus (Solemnity)
One of the most beloved celebrations in the Church, this solemnity honors the loving Heart of Jesus, overflowing with mercy, compassion, and forgiveness. The Sacred Heart reminds us of Christ’s infinite love for humanity and calls us to trust in Him completely.

June 13 — Immaculate Heart of Mary (Memorial)
Celebrated the day after the Sacred Heart of Jesus, this memorial honors the pure and loving heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Her Immaculate Heart points us always toward her Son and teaches us how to love God faithfully and wholeheartedly.

June 13 — St. Anthony of Padua (Feast)
Known as the “Wonder Worker” and patron saint of lost things, Saint Anthony of Padua remains one of the most beloved saints in the Church. He is remembered for his holiness, powerful preaching, and deep knowledge of Scripture.

June 24 — Nativity of St. John the Baptist (Solemnity)
This solemnity celebrates the birth of John the Baptist, the one chosen by God to prepare the way for Jesus. His life reminds us of humility, repentance, courage, and faithful witness to Christ.

June 27 — Mother of Perpetual Help (Feast)
A beloved Marian devotion celebrated by many Catholics worldwide, especially in the Philippines. Under the title of Our Mother of Perpetual Help, Mary reminds us that she continually intercedes for her children and leads us closer to Jesus.

June 29 — Saints Peter and Paul (Solemnity)
This solemnity honors Saint Peter and Saint Paul, two great pillars of the Church who dedicated their lives to preaching the Gospel. Their courage, faith, and martyrdom continue to inspire Christians around the world.

May this month of June draw us closer to Jesus through the Eucharist, the Sacred Heart, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the inspiring witness of the saints. Let us celebrate these sacred days with prayer, devotion, Holy Mass, and renewed faith.

✝️ SATURDAY PRAYER TO THE HOLY FAMILY ✝️

🙏 In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

🕊️ Holy Family of Nazareth — Jesus, Mary, and Joseph — we come before you today with humble hearts, asking for your love, guidance, and protection over our families and homes.

💖 Lord Jesus, teach us to love one another with kindness, patience, and forgiveness. Help us to live in faith and obedience to the will of God.

💙 Blessed Virgin Mary, loving Mother, wrap our families in your care and intercede for us in times of difficulty, sorrow, and uncertainty. Teach us to trust in God as you did.

🤎 Saint Joseph, faithful protector and guardian of the Holy Family, guide all fathers and workers to lead with courage, humility, and responsibility. Protect our homes from harm and division.

🏡 Holy Family, bless our parents, children, relatives, and loved ones. May our homes be filled with peace, respect, prayer, and unity. Remove anger, hatred, and misunderstanding from our hearts.

🙏 Help us to remain faithful to God in every trial and to place Christ at the center of our family life each day.

📖 “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” — Joshua 24:15

✨ Holy Family of Nazareth, pray for us and protect all families around the world.

🙏 Amen.

✝️ HOLY NAMES FOR THE HOLY MASS ✝️

The Holy Mass is known by many sacred names in the Catholic Church, each expressing a deeper meaning of the Eucharistic celebration instituted by Jesus Christ.

📖 Sacred Names of the Mass

✨ Holy Sacrifice of the Mass

Because the Mass makes present the one sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross in an unbloody manner.

✨ Eucharist

From the Greek word meaning “thanksgiving.”
The Mass is the Church’s supreme act of thanksgiving to God.

✨ Lord’s Supper

Recalling the Last Supper of Jesus with His Apostles before His Passion.

✨ Breaking of Bread

An early Christian name for the Eucharistic celebration, remembered in the Acts of the Apostles.

✨ Holy Communion

Because the faithful receive the Body and Blood of Christ and are united with Him.

✨ Divine Liturgy

A name commonly used in the Eastern Catholic Churches and Eastern Christian traditions.

✨ Sacred Mysteries

Referring to the profound mystery of Christ truly present in the Eucharist.

✨ Memorial of the Lord’s Passion

Because the Mass commemorates Christ’s Passion, Death, and Resurrection.

📖 Biblical Foundation

At the Last Supper, Jesus said:

“Do this in remembrance of me.”

🙏 Spiritual Meaning

The Holy Mass is:

The highest form of Christian worship

The source and summit of Catholic life

A meeting between Heaven and earth

A participation in Christ’s eternal sacrifice

Through the Mass, the faithful receive grace, spiritual nourishment, and deeper union with Jesus Christ.

DAPAT ALAM MO: AKALA NG MARAMI PAREHO LANG ang ASSUMPTION at ASCENSION PERO ito ang Totoo ✝️🌤️

Maraming Katoliko ang nalilito kapag naririnig ang:
✨ Assumption
at
✨ Ascension

Pagkatapos nito,
siya ay:
🌤️ umakyat sa Langit
🌤️ sa sarili Niyang banal na kapangyarihan

Ito ang dahilan kung bakit tinawag itong:
✝️ ASCENSION

Dahil si Kristo ay:
👉 tunay na Diyos
👉 Panginoon ng Langit at lupa
👉 at walang hanggang Hari

Hindi Siya “iniakyat.”

SIYA mismo ang umakyat.

📖 “Habang sila’y nakatingin, Siya ay iniakyat sa alapaap.”
— Gawa 1:9

🌹 PANGALAWA: ANO NAMAN ANG ASSUMPTION?

Ang Assumption naman ay tungkol kay:
🌹 MAHAL NA BIRHENG MARIA

Sa pagtatapos ng kanyang buhay sa lupa,
si Maria ay:
✨ iniakyat ng Diyos sa Langit
✨ katawan at kaluluwa

❤️ katapatan
❤️ kabanalan

🌤️ may Langit
🌤️ may buhay na walang hanggan
🌤️ at may Diyos na naghihintay sa atin

Kaya habang nabubuhay tayo sa mundo,
inaanyayahan tayong:
🙏 manatiling tapat
🙏 lumapit kay Kristo
🙏 at mamuhay nang may pananampalataya

Dahil ang tunay nating tahanan…
ay nasa Langit.

THREE TYPES OF CATHOLICS

NOMINAL
One who claims to be Catholic but does not truly practice the faith. They attend church only for major events like weddings, baptisms, and funerals, yet rarely follow Church teachings in daily life.

CAFETERIA
One who selectively picks and chooses
which Catholic teachings to accept, often ignoring those that conflict with modern culture or personal opinions (e.g., on marriage, life issues, or authority).

PRACTICING
One who faithfully observes Church teachings, regularly receives the Sacraments (especially Eucharisit and Confession), attends Mass, and strives to live as a true disciple of Christ in word and deed.

Catholics are known not just by name, but by how they live their faith.
Let us strive to be truly practicing Catholics.

THE GENEALOGY OF THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY: WHAT WE KNOW

Many people ask:
Where did Mary come from?
Does she have a genealogy like Jesus?

The answer is simple…
We may not have a fully detailed genealogy like that of Christ, but we do have a clear line rooted in Scripture and Tradition.

1. ROOTED IN THE LINE OF ABRAHAM (SCRIPTURE)
Mary belongs to the people of Israel, the chosen lineage that began with Abraham -the father of faith. This lineage is clearly established in Gospel of Matthew 1:1–16 and Gospel of Luke 3:23–38, where the genealogy of Jesus is traced back to Abraham.
(Source: Scripture)

2. FROM THE HOUSE OF DAVID (SCRIPTURE)
The Messiah was prophesied to come from the house of David. Through this same lineage, Mary is understood to belong to the Davidic line, fulfilling God’s promise.
(Source: Scripture)

3. THE LINE CONTINUES THROUGH ISRAEL (SCRIPTURE)
From Abraham to David and through generations of Israel, God prepared a people through whom salvation would come. This sacred history forms the background of Mary’s origin.
(Source: Scripture)

4. SAINT JOACHIM AND SAINT ANNE (TRADITION)
Mary’s parents are known through Sacred Tradition as Saint Joachim and Saint Anne. Though not recorded in the Bible, this tradition has been preserved and honored in the life of the Church.
(Source: Tradition)

5. THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY
From this prepared lineage comes Mary, the one chosen to bear Christ. Her life stands at the meeting point of God’s promise and its fulfillment.

6. JESUS CHRIST: THE FULFILLMENT (SCRIPTURE)
From Mary comes Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, in whom all the promises made to Abraham and David are fulfilled.
(Source: Scripture)

IN SUMMARY… A LINE PREPARED BY GOD
From Abraham…
To David…
Through Israel…
To Joachim and Anne…
To Mary…
To Christ…

This is not just a genealogy…
It is a story of preparation, promise, and fulfillment.

Take a moment to reflect:
“God prepared generations… for one ‘Yes.’”
…and let that deepen your appreciation of God’s plan

“Before Mary was chosen… she was prepared.”

After receiving , the most important thing is to enter into a moment of prayerful thanksgiving and reverence, because Catholics believe we have truly received .

Here is what we should do:

1. Return to Your Place Quietly

Walk back with reverence and avoid unnecessary talking or distraction.

This is a sacred moment of personal encounter with Christ.

2. Kneel or Sit in Prayer

Spend time in silent adoration and speak to Jesus in your heart.

You may:

Thank Him for coming to you

Offer your intentions and prayers

Ask for grace, strength, healing, and guidance

Tell Him your struggles and desires

3. Make a Prayer of Thanksgiving

A simple prayer:

“Lord Jesus, thank You for coming into my heart.
Stay with me, guide me, strengthen me, and help me live according to Your holy will. Amen.”

Many saints say this is one of the most powerful moments of prayer because of your intimate union with Christ.

4. Reflect on His Presence

Remain aware that you have received the Body of Christ.

Avoid letting your mind wander.

Use the time to deepen your love for God.

5. Join Reverently in the Remaining Mass

Continue participating attentively until the final blessing.

Do not leave immediately after Communion unless truly necessary.

Why This Moment Is Special

The time after Communion is often called a moment of thanksgiving after receiving the Eucharist, when the soul is united closely with Christ in a unique way.

It is a beautiful time to simply say:

“Jesus, I trust in You.” ✝️
