While watching Pepe Herrera on Toni Talks, a line he shared truly resonated with me, Deep Rest.

In the workplace, we’re taught to push through, to meet deadlines, to always be “on.” But burnout quietly whispers: slow down. Pause. Recharge.

This stuck with me because it’s so easy to ignore the signs until we’re completely drained.

Taking care of yourself isn’t a luxury it’s necessary.

Setting boundaries, resting, and listening to yourself is what allows us to come back stronger, clearer, and more effective at work and in life.

We can’t pour from an empty cup.

Sometimes, stepping back isn’t giving up it’s survival and preparation for what’s next.

Don’t wait for the holidays, or for “when you have time.”
Call her. Visit her. Tell her you love her, even if you think she already knows.

Because one day, you’ll wish you had one more chance — one more hug, one more argument, one more ordinary day that you didn’t realize was precious at the time.
I’d give anything to hear my mother’s voice again.
Anything to feel her hand in mine.

When your mom is gone, the world changes in ways you can’t explain.
You notice her absence in everything — the empty chair, the unspoken advice, the silence where laughter used to be.
You start to understand that she wasn’t just your mother — she was your constant, your comfort, your home.

So hold your mom close.
Because someday, memories will be all you have left — and they’ll mean more than you can imagine.
