Not everyone gets to wear that three-lined toga.
It’s not just a piece of cloth.
It’s not a costume for photos.

It’s a badge earned through late nights, heavy readings, missed birthdays, mental breakdowns, imposter syndrome, and the quiet decision to keep going anyway.

A master’s degree, a doctorate — these aren’t things you stumble upon.
You don’t just get them.
You fight for them.

You show up on days you don’t feel smart.
You write pages that get rejected, revised, and reworked over and over.
You sit through classes and question if you even belong there. And still, you stay.
Because something inside you whispers,
You have to finish this.

And so you do. Slowly, painfully, sometimes with tears, but with a kind of courage people won’t always see.
The kind that isn’t loud, but steady.

That three-lined toga? It’s not for show.

May estudyanteng minsang hinusgahan.

“Ay, pasaway yan.”
“Walang ambisyon.”
“Hindi yan aabot sa graduation.”

Pero hindi nila alam, habang inaakala nilang wala kang pakialam — nagpapakapagod ka na pala.
Tahimik mong nilalabanan ang sarili mong takot. Paulit-ulit mong sinasabi sa sarili mo,
“Kaya ko ‘to. Hindi ako hanggang dito lang.”

Hindi mo man masabi nang malakas, pero araw-araw mong pinapatunayan:
Hindi mo kailangan ng approval ng iba para magsikap.

At ngayon, kahit hindi ka pa tapos,
kahit marami pang kulang,
isang bagay ang malinaw —
Hindi ka na ‘yung dating hinusgahan.

Ikaw na ngayon ‘yung gumigising ng maaga,
nag-aaral kahit pagod,
at tahimik na binubuo ang sariling tagumpay.

Hindi mo kailangang mag-ingay.
Basta ituloy mo lang — dahil balang araw,

Diary Entry: Degree Unlocked 🎓

Akala mo madali?
Hindi ‘to Netflix series. Walang “next episode” kung di ka muna magsusuffer.

Puyat pero pumasok.
Late pero may excuse letter sa utak kahit wala sa papel.
Group work pero ikaw lang ang “work.”

May araw na gusto mo nang i-block si prof.
May araw na gusto mong sunugin ang buong paper.
May quiz na ginawa mong pa-swerte na lang ang sagot kasi: “Bahala na si Batman.”

Pero anong nangyari?

✨ Toga na lang ang kulang.
✨ Graduate na beshie.
✨ Degree UNLOCKED. Parang ML lang, pero walang cheat code.

Kahit ilang breakdown,
Kahit ilang kape,
Kahit ilang “Ma’am, pasensya na po…”
Kinaya mo.

Hindi lang ‘to papel.
Diploma ‘to ng lahat ng beses na sinabi mong:
“Ayoko na.” pero tinuloy mo pa rin.

So to all the current students out there:

Kung nagta-thesis ka pa,
Kung may prof kang di mo ma-spell ang attitude,
Kung nauubos na ang absences mo pero hindi ang pagod mo —

💡 Chill lang, Ka-Klase.
Hindi mo kailangang mabilis.
Hindi mo kailangang perfect.
Ang importante: makarating.

Kahit gumapang, kahit matagal.
Ang mahalaga: GRADUATE ka rin soon.
