🍪 Brown Cookies with Walnuts – Homemade & Budget-Friendly
🧾 Ingredients:
1 and 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsalted butter (or margarine), softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp white sugar (optional, for balanced sweetness)
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (plus extra for topping)
Optional: 1 tbsp cocoa powder or a pinch of cinnamon for added flavor

Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
In a bowl, sift and mix the flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder/cinnamon (if using).
In another bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until smooth and fluffy.
Add in the egg and vanilla extract, beat until well combined.
Gradually mix in the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a dough forms.
Fold in the chopped walnuts.
Scoop about 1 tbsp of dough and place on the tray, spacing evenly.
