With the incident that happened yesterday, as Filipino Engineering Professionals, it is imperative that we continually revisit and uphold the following legal and safety frameworks that govern our practice:

✅ Article 1723 – Civil Code of the Philippines
Defines the liability of engineers, architects, and contractors for defects in buildings and structures.

✅ Republic Act 11058 – OSH Law (2018)
Mandates compliance with occupational safety and health standards to protect workers.

✅ Labor Code of the Philippines
Ensures fair labor practices and safe working conditions.

✅ National Building Code
Provides standards for design, construction, occupancy, and maintenance of buildings.

✅ Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS) – DOLE
Sets guidelines to safeguard health and safety in workplaces.

These frameworks are not optional references. They are binding responsibilities. Let us remain vigilant in applying them to uphold safety, accountability, and integrity in our profession.
