BREAKING NEWS from NEWSWATCH! ๐Ÿ“ฃ

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) advises people in coastal provinces facing the Pacific Ocean to avoid the coast and stay away from the beach as tsunami waves are expected following the magnitude 8.7 quake in Russia.

The first tsunami waves, with a height of less than a meter, are expected between 1:20 p.m. to 2:40 p.m.

โ€œIt may not be the largest and these waves may continue for hours,โ€ Phivolcs says.

30-DAY SUSPENSION OF ALL QUARRIES, SAND & GRAVEL, SPECIAL DISPOSAL PERMITS IN CEBU

Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro has ordered the immediate 30-day suspension of all quarry, sand and gravel, and special disposal permits issued by the Cebu Provincial Government to facilitate a comprehensive review of existing permits.

The directive was issued on Monday, July 28, 2025.
