FOUR THINGS I WISH FOR MY BIRTHDAY
As I celebrate another year of life, I pause to reflect on the things that truly matter, the ones that outlast the candles, the celebrations, and the years.
1. That my marriage and family remain strong in the Lord and with each other.
My family means the world to me. I pray that I will continue to love and lead them well until my last breath.
My wife is my passion and my greatest gift, my partner, my confidante, my constant. We’ve chosen to live and love for each other, anchored in the covenant we made before God: “till death do us part.”
2. That generations of Christian men and women will be raised and discipled through the ministry God has entrusted to us, beginning with my own children.
I pray that my life will always declare that Christ is worth following, and that surrendering everything for Him is never a loss, but gain.
May our lives as a family be seeds that grow into generations who love God deeply and live for His purposes.
3. That I might finish strong.
Recently, I heard a message that said only 30% of leaders finish well and it gripped my heart.
So I prayed this morning: Lord, keep me humble, thankful, and grounded in You.
May I never lose sight of the grace that called me, the mission You gave me, and the people You’ve entrusted to my care.
4. That deep friendships will continue to form in my life.
I’ve learned that we’re not meant to walk alone.
We all need friends for life — people who stay in both the highs and the lows, who call us higher, and who help us become more like Christ.
These covenant friendships have been life-changing, and I pray that as I grow older, I’ll keep growing with friends who sharpen, strengthen, and speak life into my soul.
More than anything, I’m grateful for the God who has been faithful through every season — and I look forward to walking with Him through the next.
