I know this isn’t related to travel, but let me share a funny story from last night. So I had an aircon installed because, you know, it’s been insanely hot and it’s so hard to sleep. The aircon was already there, but I didn’t want to turn it on because I was worried my Meralco bill would shoot up. 😰💸

Then it was almost 11 PM and I still couldn’t sleep. That’s when I realized—why am I refusing to use the aircon? Wasn’t that the whole point of having it installed? It’s literally for hot nights like this, right? 🤦‍♂️🔥

So yeah, I finally turned it on… but I still ended up staying up late because I turned it on so late. I felt so stupid. Like, what was I even doing? Haha. 😂🤪 Well, wala lang - - share ko lang. 😅😂

By the way, I added the hiking photo just so the post still fits my travel and hiking page—nothing more than that! 🏞️😄

Before, I only saw him in posts from other mountaineers—never imagined that one day, I’d be face to face with him, listening to his actual briefing. Honored to meet the organizer of the Guiting-Guiting Traverse (Olango-Tampayan route), Sir Tuinks R. Robiso, during this unforgettable event organized by Lakaw ni Paw. What a surreal moment! ☺️ ⛰️

Check out ’s video.

Beautifully said, brother. As someone who also climbs, I deeply feel every word you wrote. Climbing is more than a sport or a goal—it’s a calling that only fellow mountaineers truly understand.

To those who’ve never felt the silence above the clouds, the weight of every breath at high altitude, or the unexplainable peace on a ridge—please, if you don’t understand, it’s better not to comment. Our dreams may not make sense to everyone, but they are sacred to us.

Sir Philipp’s courage is something we honor deeply. He climbed with heart, with purpose, and with spirit. His journey may have ended, but the trail he left behind continues to guide us.

Rest in power, Engr. Santiago. You are one with the mountains now.🕊️🏔️

This is the dumbest thing you can ever say to someone who dreams of climbing Mt. Everest.

Climbing mountains is not just about reaching the summit. We don’t climb to be called heroes. We don’t climb for the country or for anyone else. We climb for ourselves. Climbing Mt. Everest is a dream that burns in the hearts of many, and to dismiss that, to invalidate someone’s effort, is one of the most disrespectful things you can do.

You have no right to reduce this mountain to just a peak. This is not just a climb. It is a confrontation between life and death. To climb Everest is to willingly place half your body in the grave and still keep moving forward.

We climb because this is our dream. Not a goal to check off but a calling that pulls from the core of who we are. The courage it takes, the discipline it demands, the pain it costs, these are not things you can measure with shallow judgment.

So before you speak, understand this. You are talking about something that lives in the soul of every mountaineer. You may not get it, and that’s fine. But don’t ever speak lightly of it.

Because for us, this climb is everything.

To Sir Philipp, rest easy, sir. Snappy salute!

Your journey inspired so many, and your courage brought pride to the entire mountaineering community. Though your climb has ended, your spirit will forever echo in the mountains you loved.

Our deepest condolences to your family, friends, and loved ones. May they find strength in knowing that your legacy lives on in every step we take toward our own summits.

You climbed not just for yourself, but for every dreamer who dares to reach higher. Gone too soon, but never forgotten.

Though I never met you, Engr. Santiago, I feel a deep connection through the mountains we both loved. Your courage, passion, and pursuit of the summit inspire all of us who find peace and purpose in the climb. 🧗‍♂️💙

You died doing what you loved, and there’s honor in that. May your spirit forever soar among the peaks, where the sky kisses the earth, and your legacy live on in every step we take upward. 🌄✨

Rest well, fellow climber. 🕊️⛰️🙏

The Filipino mountaineering community is heartbroken, but deeply proud. You followed your passion all the way to the top of the world — and though your journey ended on the slopes of Everest, your spirit soars even higher.

Thank you for showing us what it means to chase a dream with courage and heart. Your legacy will live on in every Filipino climber who dares to reach new heights.

We’ll see you in every sunrise above the clouds. Rest well, Engr. PJ. 🕊️
