World AIDS Day is not only a commemoration it is a call to conscience. Behind every ribbon is a life, a story, a struggle, and a hope. HIV/AIDS reminds us that compassion is not optional, and dignity must never be denied.

As a community, we are challenged to reflect.
Do we choose silence, or do we choose understanding? Do we allow stigma to divide us, or do we rise together in empathy? The answer lies in how we treat one another with respect, with decency, and with courage.

This day calls us to compassion and decency. It challenges us to speak with care, to educate ourselves and others, and to advocate for social and sexual awareness with dignity. By choosing empathy over silence and understanding over judgment, we protect lives and strengthen our communities.

𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬!✨

‎Minbel Fajurano Senit, a 2nd-year Bachelor of Science in Agriculture student at Makilala Institute of Science and Technology, proudly represented her community. As a youth representative of the Nabundasan-Tuburan Organic Farmers Association, she was invited to participate in a regional capacity-building workshop for Southeast Asian women community leaders, which was held in Siem Reap, Cambodia, from November 26–30, 2025.

‎This important gathering brought together women leaders, community organizers, and grassroots advocates from across Southeast Asia to strengthen their capacities in promoting sustainable agricultural practices and community-driven development. The workshop aimed to deepen understanding of the vital role women played in food security, ecological stewardship, and rural livelihoods, while enhancing their leadership skills and regional solidarity.

‎Through collaborative learning sessions and shared experiences, participants explored sustainable farming methods, community empowerment strategies, and solutions to pressing agricultural challenges in the region. Representing MASIPAG Mindanao, Minbel joined this meaningful initiative to help advance women’s leadership and support the growing movement for resilient, sustainable, and life-affirming agricultural communities across Southeast Asia.

‎As an agriculture student and a daughter of farmers who advocated for sustainable and organic farming, she sought to further deepen her knowledge and skills in sustainable agricultural practices.

For those students who once had double thoughts about taking agriculture, her journey stood as a living reminder that “Agriculture is not just agriculture” it is a calling to nurture communities, protect the environment, and secure the future of food and life itself.

Thank you, MISTIANS, for showing accountability and responsibility throughout the signing of clearance. With your cooperation, a total of 5,700+ students were served and 5,172 sanction items were collected from previous events.

Acknowledgement also goes to the Student Council officers who worked tirelessly from start to finish your dedication made this entire process smooth and successful.

All collected items will now be put to good use and will be donated to children through MIST’s outreach program. Together, we turn responsibility into impact.

Bonifacio’s words challenge us to reflect on what it truly means to love the Philippines in our time. His patriotism was expressed through sacrifice and courage; ours must be expressed through integrity, perseverance, and a refusal to be silent in the face of injustice.

Today, one of the greatest challenges our nation continues to face is corruption, a problem that weakens institutions, steals opportunities, and betrays the very people it should serve. For students, this issue is not distant; it affects the quality of education, the fairness of opportunities, and the future we are preparing for.

To honor Bonifacio’s noble love, we must commit ourselves to being the generation that breaks the cycle. That means practicing honesty in our studies, rejecting shortcuts, and standing firm against the culture of corruption in everyday life. It means using knowledge as a weapon for truth, and unity as a shield against division.

Bonifacio’s legacy reminds us that patriotism is not passive, it is active, demanding perseverance and sacrifice. As students, our role is to prepare ourselves not only for personal success but for national service. By striving for excellence, nurturing integrity, and refusing to tolerate corruption, we carry forward his dream of a Philippines built on courage, justice, and love.

The Real Price of a Shortcut

It is a disturbing trend: academic dishonesty is often treated as a clever 'hack,' sometimes even boasted about on social media. If you've taken a shortcut, you need to understand that this "Easy A" is a toxic illusion.

You may cheat your way to a stunning 1.00, but internally, you've earned a 5.00 in Knowledge and Skill. By cheating, you skip the essential process of learning and development, guaranteeing that you are unprepared for the next lesson, the next exam, and the demands of the real world. That momentary rush of getting away with it, or the fleeting social media 'like,' is no substitute for genuine competence and integrity.

When you publicly declare your dishonesty, you are stamping yourself with a 5.00 in Integrity—a failing mark that permanently damages your reputation and erodes the trust of educators and peers. In the long run, this behavior becomes a massive disadvantage: the knowledge you bypassed will expose your lack of foundation when true skills are tested, costing you future opportunities. That honest, hard-won 2.50 is worth infinitely more than the hollow 1.00 you cheated for. Stop viewing shortcuts as achievements; the only path to real, lasting advantage is through earned success and a character you can be proud of.
