The most absurd thing i've read today.

i'm grateful to know that Manila is "WALKABLE" in Global rankings. BUT NOT walkable in the real world. Everybody living in Manila and nearby provinces know abour it.

Quite amusing how when the government failed to strictly implement its own law, it blames the law for being inadequate. 🙄

Nanawagan ang isang mambabatas na palitan na ang National Building Code kasunod ng pagbagsak ng isang concrete pillar sa construction site ng sa West Avenue, Quezon City.

Ayon kay 2nd District Manila Rep. Rolando Valeriano, chairperson ng Committee on Metro Manila Development, kailangang palitan na ang lumang batas ng isang bagong National Construction Code na may mas mahigpit na enforcement at mas updated na mga probisyong pangkaligtasan.

Walang naiulat na nasaktan, pero naapektuhan ang ilang utility cables sa insidenteng ito, April 13.

"The last straw. That disastrous MRT-7 construction site collapse should be the real wake-up call for Congress so that finally the National Building Code must be replaced soon by a National Construction Code with strict administrative enforcement measures and mechanisms to ensure successful prosecution of all violators," aniya.

Dagdag pa ni Representative Valeriano, dapat isama sa bagong code ang mga probisyon para sa green at biophilic architecture, disaster adaptation, containment ng airborne diseases, at mga climate-resilient na teknolohiya.
