COUPLE ARRESTED IN ANTI-ILLEGAL DRUG STING, ₱6.8-M SHABU SEIZED IN MAGUINDANAO

Two high-value individuals were arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted late Monday afternoon, April 13, in Purok Sentro, Barangay Limbo, Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte.

Authorities identified the suspects as “Gemma,” 28, and her husband, 33— residents of the said area. The operation led to the confiscation of approximately one kilogram of suspected shabu with an estimated value of ₱6.8 million, along with a firearm, ammunition, and marked money.

The coordinated operation involved local police units, specialized forces, and partner agencies, carried out under proper pre-operational procedures. The suspects were immediately taken into custody and are now facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

PNP Chief, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the operating units for the successful arrest, emphasizing the importance of sustained anti-drug efforts.

“We will not allow these activities to thrive in our communities. This operation shows that our personnel on the ground are focused and committed to their mission,” PGEN Nartatez said.

He added, “We will continue to intensify our operations and work closely with partner agencies to ensure that those involved are held accountable. Hindi tayo titigil hangga’t hindi napapanatiling ligtas ang ating mga komunidad.”

The operation is part of the intensified campaign against illegal drugs, in line with the PNP Focused Agenda under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, and supports the broader peace and order efforts of the administration of Ferdinand R Marcos Jr..

The Philippine National Police assures the public that operations like this will continue nationwide, reinforcing its commitment to a Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.

Responding units from Malabang Municipal Police Station (MPS), 2nd Police Mobile Force Company, Lanao del Sur Provincial Police Office (PMFC LDS PPO), and Bravo Company, 51st Infantry Battalion, 1st Infantry Division, Philippine Army (IB, 1st ID, PA) discovered an abandoned white minivan containing several branded rifles, assorted magazines, live ammunition, gr***de launcher rounds, and bandoliers. PRO-10’S NO. 1 MOST WANTED NABBED IN BUKIDNON

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has arrested the Number 1 Regional Most Wanted Person of Police Regional Office 10 in an intelligence-driven police operation in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon on March 10, 2026.

Operatives from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Lanao del Norte Provincial Field Unit, together with personnel from the Philippine Army, Intelligence Group, and territorial police units, served a warrant of arrest for Murder issued by a court in Misamis Oriental on January 12, 2026.

The suspect, known by the alias “Arman,” 38 years old and a resident of Balingasag, Misamis Oriental, was arrested without incident. Authorities said the accused had long been on the most wanted list in Northern Mindanao.

Police records indicate that the suspect was allegedly involved in the fatal shooting of a former barangay captain in Sugbongcogon, Misamis Oriental in 2015. The case was later investigated and formally filed before the prosecutor’s office, which led to the issuance of a warrant for his arrest earlier this year.

According to police reports, the suspect is also believed to have links with a Communist Terrorist Group operating in the region.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. commended the operating teams for the successful arrest and emphasized the importance of sustained manhunt efforts against wanted persons.

“Malaking bagay sa ating mga komunidad ang pagkakaaresto ng mga matagal nang nagtatago sa batas. Ipinapakita nito na tuloy-tuloy ang ating trabaho upang tiyakin na ang mga may kasalanan ay haharap sa hustisya,” said PGEN Nartatez.

“Sa ating mga kababayan, makakaasa kayo na hindi titigil ang PNP sa paghahanap at pag-aresto sa mga wanted na indibidwal. The law will always catch up,” he added.

The successful operation forms part of PNP Focused Agenda, particularly through Enhanced Managing Police Operations, aimed at strengthening the pursuit of fugitives and ensuring public safety. This also supports the peace and security initiatives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to hold accountable individuals involved in serious crimes.

The arrested suspect is now under police custody for proper legal procedures.

The PNP continues to intensify its operations against wanted persons as part of its commitment to Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.
