The corridors of Capiz State University pulsed with quiet intensity as third- and fourth-year Bachelor of Science in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (BSABE) students immersed themselves in a rigorous two-day board examination review. What unfolded was more than an academic exercise.

In an atmosphere defined by focus and collaboration, students engaged in collective study sessions that sharpened both their technical competencies and critical thinking skills. The review became a proving ground, where future engineers began to recalibrate their perspectives.

Central to this experience was the guidance of Engr. Daniel Alexis H. Belonio, whose expertise in machine design and agricultural buildings & structures brought depth and clarity to complex concepts. Beyond equations and theoretical frameworks.

As the review concluded, one message resonated strongly among the participants—Padayon lang. In the face of difficulty, they press forward with discipline, purpose, and unwavering faith. For these aspiring engineers, the long hours of preparation are not in vain. Soon, their perseverance will find its reward—etched in the long-awaited list of successful examinees.

The Harvest's Heartbeat: Honouring Our Farmers' Heroes
Happy National Agriculture Day

To the hands that diligently till the land and the minds that plan its future.

More than just a crop, agriculture is a symbol of human resiliency and a guarantee of survival. Today, we pay tribute to the unsung heroes who put food on our tables despite shifting weather patterns and demanding workdays. But we also understand that a new kind of stewardship is needed to preserve this admirable tradition.

As aspiring Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers, we are motivated by a deep duty: empowering Filipino farmers. We think that where the ageless wisdom of the soil meets the accuracy of contemporary science and technology is where food security will be found in the future.

Thank you to the farmers who provide for us and to the innovators who are creating the means to support them. Your steadfast commitment is the real lifeblood of our country. Let's work together to build a future in which our people prosper, our fields flourish, and our harvests are plentiful.

DABE Recognized for Creative Excellence, also Named Winner of the 'Most Joyful' Award

The Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (DABE) emerged as the overall champion of the 22nd University Day Booth Fair, a victory built on a foundation of relentless hard work and visionary creativity. This top-tier finish serves as a powerful testament to the students’ ability to take complex engineering concepts and transform them into practical, high-impact solutions. Rather than simply fulfilling academic requirements, these students poured months of effort into designing and fabricating specialized machinery and refined agricultural products that stood out for their technical ingenuity and professional ex*****on.

Every machine and product featured in the exhibit was a direct result of student-led innovation, showcasing the department’s commitment to hands-on excellence and creative problem-solving. This dedication was evident not only in the quality of the builds but also in the vibrant energy of the delegation, which earned them the prestigious "Most Joyful Award." This separate distinction highlighted a team spirit that remained unshakable throughout the competition. By balancing rigorous engineering labor with a genuine passion for their craft, DABE has perfectly embodied the "One CAPSU" vision of being "United in Purpose, Transforming Lives," setting a high standard for leadership and institutional pride within the university community.

The Giants Of The Field: DABE Sweeps 16th FLP Week With Engineering Precision

BURIAS, CAPIZ. People say that seeds, systems and synergy are the keys to the future of farming. This week the students of the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering or DABE for short did not just follow these plans. They made their own plans and won. From the labs to the campus gym our DABE students showed that when you combine the heart of a farmer with the mind of an engineer you can do things.

It was not luck it was hard work and careful planning. Karen L. Pestaño and Stephanie Abello were a team they were very good at what they did and they won both the Feed Conversion Ratio Contest and the Battle of Brains. They were joined by Jylyn Valenzuela, who's very smart and Kenneth Caporal, who is very good with technology. Kenneth Caporal also won the Farm Pests Identification contest with Maxen Faith Berganio and Jesselyn Orrica. These students are not just names they are the future of farming and engineering.

Some people think that engineers are only good with numbers. That is not true. John Arwin Ciervo made a poster and won the Poster Making Competition. Jylyn Valenzuela also did well. Came in second place. Even when it comes to dancing the DABE students are very good. Tegie Jinio won the Zumba Dance contest, which shows that our department has rhythm and can have fun.

This win shows that our department has a foundation. Our leaders, like Department Chair Dr. Elman C. Torres and Engr. Marilyn Bernabe, have helped us become what we are today. Engr. Bernabe used to be a Dean. Now she helps our students as the Student Affairs and Services Chairperson. She is very dedicated to our students. Wants them to succeed. Having leaders like her helps our students become not just good at their jobs but good leaders.

To the students tried yet bravely took the challenge- your hard work is what makes our department great. As we finish the FLP Local Week we are proud of what we have accomplished. We are building the future of farming. It is being built by the Department of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering or DABE.

The future is being built by DABE.

Happy Pi Day!
Pi (3.14) is an important mathematical constant used in many fields, including Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering. In this field, π helps engineers design and improve agricultural systems such as irrigation pipes, water distribution systems, grain silos, storage tanks, and farm machinery. It is also essential in analyzing fluid flow in irrigation and drainage systems, allowing farmers to manage water resources more efficiently.

By using mathematics and engineering principles, Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers create solutions that increase farm productivity, conserve natural resources, and support sustainable agriculture. Pi Day reminds us how mathematics connects science, engineering, and agriculture to build smarter and more sustainable farming systems for the future.
