ALDUB refers to the popular Filipino love team formed by Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza (who played the character “Yaya Dub”) on the noontime show Eat Bulaga! in 2015.
The name “ALDUB” comes from combining Alden and Yaya Dub. Their accidental onscreen chemistry during the Kalyeserye segment became a nationwide phenomenon—sparking massive fan followings, viral social media trends (notably the “ ”), and record-breaking TV ratings and tweets.
The ALDUB storyline revolved around themes of traditional courtship, family values, and destiny, blending comedy, romance, and Filipino cultural elements. It was widely regarded as one of the biggest pop culture moments in the Philippines.
