The Land Transportation Office (LTO), under the leadership of Assistant Secretary Markus V. Lacanilao, conducted a "Send-Off Ceremony" for Law Enforcement Officers (LEOs) from its Central Office. These officers are being deployed to Cebu City, Region VII, a strategic move to address reported corruption anomalies and reinforce integrity within the region's enforcement operations. The ceremony was held at the LTO Activity Center in Quezon City.
This deployment highlights the LTO's commitment to eradicating corruption and upholding professional public service. The Central Office LEOs are tasked with enhancing road safety, discipline, and order, thereby restoring public trust.
Assistant Secretary Lacanilao underscored the critical nature of their mission. He emphasized that their assignment in Region VII is vital for strengthening enforcement and providing essential support. While acknowledging the demanding nature of their duties, he stressed that public service entails significant responsibilities.
Asec. Lacanilao further charged the officers to exercise their authority with utmost professionalism, zeal, and respect for the law. He stated that their presence is crucial not only for enforcing regulations but also for demonstrating discipline and integrity, reinforcing the LTO's collective commitment to safer roads and responsible enforcement.
This initiative directly supports Asec Lacanilao's seven-point framework agenda for the LTO, which focuses on combating corruption, streamlining transactions, and ensuring road safety. By deploying Central Office personnel to areas with integrity concerns, the LTO aims to effectively achieve these objectives, rebuild public confidence, and optimize its operational efficiency.
