The act of stepping into his backyard is an intimate ritual for Ronyel Compra. Identifying Malabar hoary, buri palm, narra, and dragon fern, he forages not just with his eyes, but with deep respect for what the earth chooses to give.
After making staples of these natural materials in his art, Ronyel realized they had become core to his creative process.
Recently, his artistic work caught London's eye. Ronyel heads to the prestigious Gasworks residency, exploring Philippine organic materials in a global stage. 🌏
