The program officially began at 7:40 in the morning with Dr. Louise Ian D. Aquino serving as the Master of Ceremony. A total of 541 graduates gathered to celebrate the culmination of their hard work and perseverance. One of the emotional highlights of the morning was the pinning of medals and the appreciation of parents, recognizing the sacrifices and unconditional support they gave throughout the studentsโ academic journey.
During the program, inspiring words of wisdom were given to the graduates by OSLAR Director Mr. Joe Anthony Ymasa, who reminded everyone to trust God regardless of the pressure and uncertainty in their lives. In relation to the biblical verse, โOn everything there is a season,โ Mr. Ymasa expressed that there are both sad and joyful moments in life that people will inevitably have to face. He later on expressed the importance of the graduates trusting their God highly, for he said that the graduates are still going to face many uncertainties in life which require making faith in the Lord. This was later followed by a highly inspiring message given by Dr. Ferdinand Z. De Asis, Dean of College of Criminal Justice.
The Baccalaureate Mass was scheduled to commence by Father Gerald Jimenez, along with the Glee Club coordinated by its adviser, Dr. Victoria Kitong. The theme of the homily was about the true essence of love with emphasis on the phrases: โLove is a commandment,โ โLove is a choice,โ and โLove is gratitude.โ The mass ended at 11:50 a.m. leaving graduates and their families ready for the commencement exercises.
Graduation rites continued with the formal ceremony beginning at 1:00 p.m., with the grand march and Entrance of Colors. The processional ceremony included the Grand Marshall, candidates for graduation from the Senior High School, College of Business Administration, Tourism, and Computer Science (CBAT.COM), College of Teacher Education (COTE), College of Criminal Justice , Graduate School, honor graduates, faculty members, and administrative staff - each accompanied by a designated marshall. This was followed by the entrance of the School President, Dr. Romae R. De Asis, whose presence marked the official opening of the graduation ceremony.
The invocation was led by Prof. Erlie B. Quirimit, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem led by Mr. W***y Cariรฑo - both faculty members from COTE.
Next was the presentation of candidates for graduation from different areas of specialization. Prof. Lowella V. Ocomen, High School Principal, presided over the presentation of the eighteen (18) Senior High School candidates. Sixty-five (65) total candidates who were to receive baccalaureate degrees from CBAT.COM - ten (10) Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSCS), twenty-three (23) Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Marketing Management (BSBA-MM), seventeen (17) Bachelor of Science in Business Administration major in Financial Management (BSBA-FM), and fifteen (15) Bachelor of Science in Tourism Management (BSTM), were presented by Dr. Peter D. White, Dean of CBAT.COM; three hundred twenty-four (324) candidates from the College of Criminal Justice were presented by Dr. Ferdinand Z. De Asis, Dean of the College of Criminal Justice; and lastly, Dr. Salome C. Cruz, Dean of COTE, presented one hundred ten (110) total candidates - twenty-eight (28) Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd), eight ( 8 ) Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd), twenty-seven (27) Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English, twenty-seven (27) Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Filipino, ten (10) Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics, five (5) Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Science, four (4) Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education major in Home Economics, and one (1) Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education major in Industrial Arts. After this, Dr. Romae R. De Asis conferred the graduation of both Senior High School and Baccalaureate Degrees.
In the field of Graduate Studies, twenty-four (24) candidates for the Masterโs Degrees were presented by Dr. Ferdinand Z. De Asis and Prof. Maria Krisia Fae D. Hernaez in the imposition of hoods for the Master of Business Administration and Master of Public Administration. They were later on presented by Dr. Ferdinand Z. De Asis, the Program Head of the Institute of Graduate Studies, for the conferment of Master's Degree, which was officially conferred by Dr. Romae R. De Asis.
Mrs. Jocelyn G. Espiritu, the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Trustees, formally introduced Atty. Leah V. Evangelista, the Chairman of the Committee on Education of the Municipality of Mangaldan, as the Guest of Honor and Speaker. Atty. Evangelista left the graduates two (2) beautiful quotes to remember and bring along with them as they go on their career path. She began with her mantra which was, โStruggles are temporary. Regrets are forever.โ This was the basis of her motivation and success that she shared with the audience. She advised the students to never lose their ambition, and that success will one day follow. She then added, โRemember your whyโs.โ She urged them to keep in mind why they started in the first place - the ambitions, the sacrifices, the people they want to make proud. She noted that during difficult times, these motivations are most critical to keep a person moving. She also shared with the students that even during the most difficult times, and all the struggles as an obstacle, one must not lose their motivation. She dominated the stage with her stance wishing the students all the success in the world and to always strive for it with determination and perseverance.
There was also an awarding ceremony for honor students and special citation awards. Alongside, fellow graduates were inspired by MDC Productivity High School Valedictorian, Mr. Geoxef Yuan L. Villaruel's graduation message as he spoke on gratitude and hope.
Also addressed was the Petition for Membership to the MDC Alumni Association for the Collegiate Level, and Graduate School, led Mr. Ed-Denver Langit, and Mr. Karl Kristian Vega, respectively. Mrs. Jova V. Aquino, MDC Alumni Relations Officer, accepted the petition and led the recitation of the MDC Loyalty Pledge.
The distribution of diplomas and certificates of completion was led by Dr. Romae R. De Asis, and Atty. Leah V. Evangelista. The Senior High School graduates were presented by Prof. Lowella V. Ocomen, Principal (MDC Productivity High School); bachelor's degree graduates were presented by Prof. John Emil Agpoon, Academic Supervisor (CBAT.COM), Ms. Anne Bernadette F. Gubatan, Academic Supervisor (COTE), and Mr. Rodrigo Petrola Jr., Senior Faculty, and Mr. Edwin Penuliar, Faculty member (College of Criminology).
The event concluded with the mass singing of the MDC March and ended at around 6:10 in the evening. The entire ceremony became a memorable celebration of achievement, gratitude, faith, and perseverance as graduates officially closed one chapter of their lives and prepared themselves for new beginnings.
