The Bible is God's love letter to you.
The Word of God is a lot of things: the story of creation, history, poetry, battles, conquests, tales of courage, tales of failings, prophecies, revelations, and an epic thread of redemption that flows from beginning to end.
But without the preserved Word of God, we'd never learn about His great love that He has for you. This love letter starts out with our failure in the very beginning, when sin was chosen over obedience. And for thousands of years, we tried to follow the law and commandments and be as good as we could to maybe make up for our failings. But these good works were never enough. We needed something bigger than ourselves to rescue us from our sin.
And that's when this love letter gets exciting: God loves us so much that He did something about our problem. He gave us the most expensive (and only possible) solution: the death of His only Son. The Bible says that God demonstrated His love for us that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).
The Bible tells us so much about the love of God for us, and how we can come to know more about His nature, His desires for our lives, and His plan to reunite with us. Every chapter of the Bible ultimately points to the goodness of God and His unfailing love for His failing people. His Word is indeed a beautiful love letter, and we are grateful that God has supernaturally preserved it for everyone to have the chance to open it up.
