Sometimes, we can be like glass—appearing strong, but rigid and fragile. Glass holds its shape firmly, yet it cannot bend or be reshaped. When pressure is applied, it shatters, and its sharp shards can injure others.
Instead, let’s aim to be like metal or clay. Metal is strong but malleable, capable of being hammered, shaped, and refined without breaking. Clay, too, can be molded and pressed, allowing it to expand and take on new forms.
In life, being like glass limits us. When we’re unyielding and resistant to change, we risk breaking under pressure, with our hurt impacting those around us. But when we are flexible, like metal or clay, we can grow, adapt, and allow ourselves to be shaped into something better without causing harm.
When God works to reshape us through struggles, let us not resist His will, for resistance can bring pain not only to ourselves but also to those who love and support us. Instead, let us submit to His process, trusting that He is preparing, reshaping, and refining us. This transformation is not only for our growth and maturity but ultimately so that we may become useful instruments that bring glory to His name.
