This is My Story

My name is Janice Castro, so you can call me JAN.

I am a full-time Procurement Data Analyst for an International Company working remotely in the comfort of my home in Manila. I am a mom of three- my eldest being a young, business-minded lady, next to her is an “ausome” but smart & sweet little kid, and lastly is a naughty but witty little baby. In 2014, after giving birth to my second son, I was diagnosed with HFS or Hemi-Facial Spasm. This is an involuntary facial muscle flex which affected how I smile, or how I react to things, but I am still blessed that I can still explore some of my skills and abilities. I was a former OFW for 8 years and was away from my family. I have been in Procurement and Merchandising in the retail and wholesale field working in the corporate world for over 15 years. I started working remotely last year in September 2019.

In my free time, I also sell stuff online from foods to bags, to literally anything that I can sell, and yes I am proud of it! I am maintaining at least 2 online shops and 3 business pages for my husband who is a Financial Advisor, a food business run by my nephew, and a friend from overseas who is running a salon.

At the moment, I am also enrolled in ETEEAP or Expanded Tertiary Education Equivalency and Accreditation to obtain my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a concentration on Operations and Supply Chain. I advocate this program especially to those undergraduates like me who chooses to work first than to finish their studies in order to put food on the table for their families.

Apart from this, I also enrolled in Social Media Management Course from The Freelanschool under the mentorship of Miss Janelle Swing. I love creating graphic designs for social media pages, basic animation, and managing our personal & business pages from Facebook to Instagram. This is my stress-reliever, my creative side.

I also got a Certification for Local & International E-Commerce from Filipina Homebased Mom’s E-commerce course under the mentorship of Miss Regine Bolanos. I enjoy creating Shopify Stores and optimizing it!

My objective in creating this page is to assist professionals and small to medium business owners create and promote their brands using social media channels like Instagram and Facebook for them to focus more on their bigger goals. I also intend to inspire moms like me to explore their skills and be able to start working from home.
