𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬 | CAF releases Final Departmental Exam Schedules for First Semester of A.Y. 2025–2026

Through Memorandum Order No. 18, series of 2025, released on December 10, the College of Accountancy and Finance (CAF) announced the schedule for the Final Departmental Examinations of all Bachelor of Science in Accountancy (BSA) and Bachelor of Science in Management Accounting (BSMA) students for the first semester of Academic Year 2025–2026. The examinations are set to be held from January 12 to 16, 2026.

As stated in the memorandum, first-year students are expected to take their examinations in Financial Accounting and Reporting (ACCO 101) and Law on Obligations and Contracts (LAW 101) on January 16, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Sophomore students are scheduled to take their examinations in Intermediate Accounting 2 (ACCO 201) and Financial Management (ACCO 204) on January 13, while their examinations in Cost Accounting and Control (ACCO 202), Income Taxation (ACCO 203), and Business Laws and Regulations (LAW 012) are set on January 15.

Third-year BSA and BSMA students are both scheduled to take their examinations in Accounting for Business Combinations (ACCO 301) and Updates in Financial Reporting Standards (ACCO 311) on January 12. Meanwhile, examinations in Transfer Taxes, Local Taxation, and Preferential Taxation (ACCO 304), Accounting for Government and Non-Profit Organizations (ACCO 302), and Updates in Regulatory Framework (LAW 014) are scheduled on January 14.

Additionally, third-year BSA students are set to take their examinations in Auditing and Assurance Principles (ACCO 303) and Accounting Information Systems (ACCO 305) on January 16.

Examinations for Innovation and Strategy Formulation of fourth-year BSMA students are scheduled on January 15.

In line with the final departmental examination schedule, CAF has requested that no face-to-face, synchronous, or asynchronous classes be conducted on the specified dates to accommodate the examinations.

𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗔𝗡 𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀 𝗚𝗼𝗹𝗱𝗲𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗸𝗶𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝘃𝗲, 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗟𝗚𝗕𝗧𝗤+ 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆

With the aim to provide a safe, dignified, and caring community, PUP JPIA Manila offered joy and hope through an outreach program for 30 elderly members of LGBTQ+ in Brgy. Baclaran, Paranaque City, December 15.

Recently, this initiative called Project ATIMAN—Gintong Pasko: A Season of Love and Inclusivity was introduced through a Zoom Webinar, promoting inclusivity and support for their group.

Bringing more solidarity and compassion to the community of the Golden Bekis, a donation program was launched and prepared by our various JPIA officers.

The webinar, on the other hand, is the first ISKAisa initiative under PUP JPIA Manila and part of Project ATIMAN, a month-long socio-civic initiative that includes a donation drive.

P&A Granth Thornton showed their full support, recognizing it as the major sponsor of this project.

Mr. Abraham Pelayo Jr., People and Culture Director of PƐA Grant Thornton, said, "Awareness is just the start, yet it is the most important part."

To inspire more on screens, Mama Brenda Quinones, 71, a representative of Golden Bekis, shared her life experiences as an elderly LGBTQ+ member and how she was thankful that our society is becoming more accepting than before. She also emphasized that age and identity do not hinder achieving one's goals.

“Kahit matanda na kami, kaming mga bakla ay may nagagawa pa ring mabuti sa lipunan," she stated.

According to their handler, Mx. Kyle, the Golden Bekisis is like the elderly LGBTQ+ extended house for activities and talents, where the Bekis can do crafts, entertainment, and drag performances while receiving income and stipends.

Through this, the Golden Bekis can live their own separate lives and give space for LGBTQ+ to have various opportunities while still having their own lives outside of it.

"It's good to see that our society is kinder now to the LGBTQ+ community. Malaking parte ang advocacies na vino-voice out ang karapatan at equality. With a kinder society now, they can live a colorful life, pero nandito pa rin ang kaakibat na responsibilities and obligations. To the LGBTQ+, be thankful, and still be responsible while enjoying your life,” Mx. Kyle added.

Meanwhile, during the outreach program, PUP representatives from Mr. and Ms. Ambassadors for Goodwill and volunteer officers, exhibited their poise, which added fun and joy for the event.

On October 16, 2024, the PUP BES-HNS Honors Society held its induction and oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected officers, alongside the awarding of annual scholarships to recipients from Megaworld and BES-HNS Foundation Inc. (BHFI). The event took place at the College of Accountancy's Audio-Visual Room at the East Wing of PUP Manila and was conducted in a hybrid format, with both in-person and online participation via MS Teams.

The newly inducted officers for the BES include Jovet Flores as President, John Patrick Gopez as Vice President, Dan Gyro Cabanes as Secretary, Matthew Linzo as Treasurer, Joseph Jay Renolayan as Auditor, and Albert Hernandez as Public Relations Officer (PRO). The HNS new officers include Rhea Niduelan as President, Chrissen Moral as Vice President, Noime Tanamal as Secretary, Jennelyn Capino as Treasurer, Jassen Diego as Auditor, and Veniz Velasquez as PRO.

The ceremony highlighted the organization’s commitment to academic excellence and camaraderie among its members, recognizing the dedication of both regular and probationary members. Attendees included key figures such as Brod Lamberto T. Tagayuna, Chairman and President of the BES-HNS Foundation Inc., Brod Mario Quinsaat, Trustee and Vice President for Resource Mobilization & Corporate Partnership, and Brod Wilfredo N. Villar, Executive Director, who acknowledged the scholars and officers for their dedication to the organization's mission.

During the event, 10 scholars from the Megaworld Scholars program and 25 scholars from the BES-HNS Foundation Inc. were honored for their academic achievements, receiving cash incentives in recognition of their hard work and dedication.

BES President Jovet Flores and HNS President Rhea Niduelan presented the organization's General Plan of Actions (GPOA) for the year. They outlined each planned event in detail, emphasizing initiatives aimed at promoting companionship and social welfare within the organization and the wider community.

An inspiring moment of the event was the motivational speech delivered by Daniel Terencio, a former BES member and scholar, as well as the fourth placer in the May 2024 CPA Licensure Exam. Terencio encouraged the members with his message on the importance of a 'fail forward mindset,' sharing his journey from setbacks to successes throughout his academic career at PUP Manila.

The ceremony was hosted by Mark Joseph Gestopa, a former member of the organization, alongside Christine Louie Igna, a current member. Members and scholars from the College of Engineering also participated in the celebration, adding to the sense of unity within the academic community.

The PUP BES-HNS Honors Society now boasts a total membership of 120 individuals, consisting of 63 probationary members and 57 regular members, reflecting its continued growth and active engagement in fostering academic and personal development.

The PUP CAF Men's Basketball Team continued their dominant run in the PUP University Intramurals 2024 by outlasting the PUP COC Men's Basketball Team, 65-56, on Thursday at the PUP CEA NDC Basketball Court. This hard-fought victory placed them at the top of the standings with a 2-0 record.

Marvin Vergara, a BSMA 3-6 student, was named Player of the Game as he put on a clinic to lead his team to secure the win.

PUP CAF came out firing, dropping 19 points in the first quarter and 16 in the second, building a commanding lead by halftime. PUP COC mounted a comeback in the second half, rallying with 23 points in the fourth quarter, but PUP CAF's lockdown defense and consistent play sealed the deal until the final whistle.

The PUP CAF Men's Basketball Team geared up to face MULANAY the next day, October 18, at the PUP CEA NDC Basketball Court, aiming to ride their momentum into the quarterfinals with an undefeated record.

PUP College of Accountancy and Finance with the help of PUP JPIA Manila, organized a Lift-Up Petition Mass for the May 2024 Licensure Examination for Certified Public Accountants (LECPA) Takers, held at the P&A Grant Thornton Audio-Visual Room, 5th Floor, East Wing, PUP Main Building, on May 16.

PUP CAF faculty members, students, and PUP JPIA Manila Executive Officers, and PUP Alumni are one of the attendees of the said petition mass.

"One very long discourse with Jesus is 'love'.... His love. Jesus called and tell us that one commandment that the love one another.... After your board exam, is to continue to love — love those who you make, and love those people who is around you," said Rev. Fr. Mario Zammit, MSSP during the Homily.

Meanwhile, The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) releases the room assignments for the May 2024 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Exam (CPALE) a few days before the examination.

This year’s first Certified Public Accountant Licensure Exam (CPALE) will be conducted on May 26, 27 & 28, 2024.

The said licensure exam will be conducted in the following testing centers: NCR, Baguio, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro, Calapan, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Koronadal, Legazpi, Lucena, Pagadian, Palawan, Pampanga, Rosales, Tacloban, Tuguegarao and Zamboanga.
