Bro. Kendrick Ivan Panganiban, Lay Secretary of ACSP - Association of Catholic Shrines and Pilgrimages of the Philippines delivered the talk โ€œAnimating Parish Life through Devotion and Popular Pietyโ€ at St. Lucy Parish, Aringay, La Union, last July 5, 2026.

The presentation explored the important role of devotion and popular piety in strengthening the life of the parish and fostering a deeper sense of belonging among the faithful. It highlighted how authentic devotional practices can serve as bridges toward a more profound encounter with Christ, while enriching the communityโ€™s liturgical, spiritual, and missionary life.

The talk encouraged the faithful to preserve, deepen, and animate popular expressions of faith so that devotion may lead to greater participation in the life and mission of the Church. St. Lucy of Syracuse, pray for us!

Our hearts overflow with grace as we continue our pilgrimage in Bulacan and Valenzuela to two Marian churches with Bro. Kendrick Ivan Panganiban, Lay-Secretary of the ACSP - Association of Catholic Shrines and Pilgrimages of the Philippines.

At the Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Parish, Makinabang, Baliwag City, Bulacan, the first Marian Church in The Roman Catholic Diocese of Malolos - Ang Sandigan with a special bond of spiritual affinity to the Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome, Italy, where we entrust our journey to Mary, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary. Through the prayer of the Rosary, we are invited to contemplate the life of Christ with Mary and to discover anew the grace of prayer, perseverance, and trust in God. Her maternal presence reminds us that every pilgrimage becomes more meaningful when our hearts remain centered on Christ.

Our pilgrimage then leads us to the National Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Fatima, Valenzuela City, home of the Patroness of Valenzuela City, a cherished center of Marian devotion where countless pilgrims gather in prayer and consecration. As we contemplate the message of Fatima, we are reminded of the call to conversion, prayer, and peace, placing our lives and the needs of the world under the loving care of the Blessed Mother.

May these sacred encounters deepen our devotion, renew our hope, and inspire us to become faithful witnesses of Christ and true Signs of Hope.

Holy God, whose Spirit hovered over the waters at the beginning, we gather as part of your community of all creation, thirsty for your grace. We give thanks for the gift of water, the veins of our common home, that sustains the cedar and the whale, the pasture and the city. We are grateful for the local waters that nourish our homelands and our fellow creatures. We give thanks that in your well-watered

garden, every drop is a sacred testament to your love. Yet, we confess that we have treated this gift as a mere commodity. We have choked the seas with our waste and watched the warming tides rise in judgment. We lament the cracked earth of the drought-stricken and the salty tears of the climate refugee. Melt our frozen hearts, O God, and let the waters of repentance flow.

Lord of all Life, you promised that wherever the river flows, everything shall live.
Stir in us a calling to care for the waters โ€”
to protect the watershed, defend the
rights of water, and honor the dignity of the thirsty. May your Word be a spring
within us, gushing forth for the healing of the nations.

May God our Father who brought water from the rock sustain us in the desert. May Christ our Lord who is Living Water refresh us for the work of restoration. And may the Holy Spirit carry us on currents of grace until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream. Amen.
