I was given an opportunity today that I honestly wasn’t expecting.
Today was actually my first time speaking at our Sunday Youth Service, and what makes it even more special is that it happened so unexpectedly.
Sobrang biglaan talaga.
And what makes the story even funnier is what happened during our morning service.
I was serving in the media team that morning when we suddenly needed to flash some pictures on the screen. So I messaged Ps. Mae Ann to ask for the pictures we needed. Buti na lang, she replied right away, kaya na-flash din namin agad sa screen.
Then sa chat namin, biniro niya ako: “May biglaang ministry talaga tayo.”
Tapos sinundan pa niya ng, “Susunod naman, biglaang preaching.” HAHAHAHA.
At nagkatotoo nga.
A few hours later, ako naman yung nasa harapan, sharing God’s Word with the youth.
And honestly, I was nervous. It was my first time, and everything happened so quickly. But in the middle of all the nervousness, I was reminded that sometimes, God asks us to step into something before we feel completely ready.
We don’t always have to feel ready before we say yes to God.
Sometimes, all we need is a willing heart and the courage to trust Him because when God opens an opportunity, He also gives the grace we need to fulfill it.
And this moment became even more meaningful to me because I remembered something from my younger years.
Growing up, one of my insecurities was my voice. I used to be conscious about it, and I never imagined that one day, the very thing I used to feel insecure about would be something God would use for His glory.
But today, I stood in front of the youth and used that same voice to share His Word.
The voice I once felt insecure about. God is now allowing me to use to speak about Him. 😭
What a beautiful reminder that God can take the things we once considered weaknesses and use them for something greater.
From serving behind the screen in the morning to standing in front of the youth in the afternoon.
My first time speaking at our Sunday Youth Service, and definitely a moment I’ll always be grateful for.
Grateful for the opportunity. Grateful for the trust. And most of all, grateful that God allows us to be part of what He is doing.
So if God gives you an unexpected opportunity, don’t immediately think, “Hindi ako ready.”
Maybe you’re not. But God is. And that is enough!
All glory belongs to Him!
