The day of seafarers is an annual celebration created by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) to acknowledge the vital role seafarers play in our daily lives.
The observance of International Seafarers' Day began in 2010 after the adoption of the Maritime Labour Convention (MLC), a comprehensive international agreement aimed at ensuring all seafarers receive standardized training and adhere to consistent welfare and safety standards.
