EXCLUSIVE: US formally asks Philippines to extradite Quiboloy- BNC sources

The United States has formally asked the Philippine government to extradite detained doomsday televangelist Apollo Quiboloy to face s*x trafficking and other criminal charges, senior government officials told Bilyonaryo News Channel on Thursday.

The BNC sources said the request was sent last month by the US Embassy in Manila to the Department of Foreign Affairs, which then forwarded it to the Department of Justice (DOJ).

The DOJ, the lead agency tasked with handling extradition cases, was reviewing Washington’s request.

Quiboloy, 76, a close friend and spiritual adviser of former President Rodrigo Duterte, was indicted in 2021 by a US federal grand jury and was on the FBI's most wanted list on charges of committing conspiracy to engage in s*x trafficking by force, fraud and coercion, s*x trafficking of children and bulk cash smuggling.

BREAKING: The Supreme Court dismissed the consolidated petitions questioning the proceedings before the House of Representatives and its Committee on Justice on the impeachment complaints against Vice President Sara Z. Duterte.

In the decision, the SC ruled that the issues raised in the petitions had become moot because the House had already approved and transmitted the Articles of Impeachment to the Senate.

“Nakaikot na po ba kayo sa mga bundok? Nakita niyo na ba ang pangangailangan ng mga tao sa malalayong lugar katulad ng gamot, pagkain?” saad ni Padilla.

‘THERE’S NO TURNING BACK’

Natuklasan ni Sen. Ping Lacson ang karagdagan umanong anomalya sa infrastructure projects sa Taguig City, kabilang ang ghost slope project projects at illegal reclamation sa bahagi ng Laguna Lake.

Sinabi ito ng senador matapos ma-validate ang findings ng kaniyang team ng mga opisyal ng Philippine Reclamation Authority.

Makikipag-ugnayan din umano ang opisina ni Lacson sa iba pang ahensya upang mapanagot ang mga nasa likod ng maanomalya at ilegal na aktibidad.

Nauna nang isinumite ng senador sa Ombudsman ang mga ebidensya kaugnay sa mga maanomalya umanong proyekto sa lungsod.

PANUKALA KONTRA TRO SA ANUMANG WAGE ORDER

Naghain si Sen. Raffy Tulfo ng panukalang batas na nagbabawal sa anumang hukuman, tribunal, o iba pang awtoridad na maglabas ng Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) o injunction laban sa anumang wage order.

Sa inihaing Senate Bill No. 2372, binanggit ni Tulfo ang pagsuspende sa Wage Order No. NCR-27 na nagbibigay ng P85 dagdag sa arawang minimum na sahod ng mga manggagawa sa Metro Manila.

“Ano mang Wage Order ay bunga ng masusing mga pampublikong pagdinig, pag-aaral sa ekonomiya, at tripartite consultations na kinasasangkutan ng pamahalaan, sektor ng paggawa, at mga employer," saad niya.

“Sa oras na matapos ang usaping legal, malaki na ang ibinaba ng purchasing power ng mga manggagawa at nawawalan na ng saysay ang ipinagkaloob na dagdag-sahod," dagdag pa ni Tulfo.

Itinanggi ni Atty. Israelito Torreon, legal counsel ni Sen. Bato dela Rosa, ang mga ulat na naaresto na umano ang senador.

“Wala po akong natanggap na tawag kung totoo po iyan. Siguro naman… tatawag agad or hahanap ng paraan na matawagan ako ng aking kliyente at kaibigan,” sabi ng abogado sa programang "Sa Totoo Lang."
