β¨ Faith, Finance & True Wealth: Wisdom Over Money β¨
YOU WILL NEVER LOOK AT TRADING AND INVESTING THE SAME WAY.
π Where in the Bible do we ever see Godβs people praying for money or worldly riches? Some might say, βThey didnβt have bills back then.β But they had economies. They traded gold and silver to buy fields. They brought treasures into the house of God. Slaves were bought and sold. Currency existed; and so did financial responsibilities.
So what has changed? Why has money become the focus? π God is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
π‘ Godβs Provision Has Never Been in Question
Manna fell from heaven for the Israelites (Exodus 16 NIV).
= 5 loaves & 2 fish fed over 5,000 (Matthew 14:13β21 NIV).
= Elijah & the widow at Zarephath had enough during drought (1 Kings 17:14 NIV).
= Psalm 23: βThe Lord is my shepherd, I shall not lack anything.β
= Paul reassures: βGod shall supply all our needsβ (Philippians 4:1β9 NIV).
Godβs economy is abundance; not scarcity.
π Wisdom > Wealth
Solomon didnβt ask for riches. He asked for wisdom. 2 Chronicles 1:7β12 NIV shows us that because Solomon sought wisdom first, God gave him wealth, possessions, and honor beyond any king before or after.
π Solomonβs strongest desire was to do Godβs work right. π Proverbs urges us to stop being simple and receive wisdom. π Job 28:28 NIV says: βThe fear of the Lord; that is wisdom.β
What would our lives, portfolios, and investments look like if we truly had reverence for God?
π The Investment Principle of Obedience
Seek first the Kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33 NIV).
Delight yourself in the Lord (Psalm 37:4 NIV).
When we honor God with our lives; including how we handle money, trading, and investing; He grants us the desires of our hearts.
The hard question: Am I truly honoring God?
Like the prodigal son, our return is celebrated in the kingdom. What a merciful God! π
Could it be that we miss the fullness of our inheritance because of disobedience; or because of how we think about money?
π Obedience is the ultimate investment strategy. π
