Singer-songwriter Davey Langit has died from complications of a rare spinal infection, his wife Therese Villarante-Langit confirmed on Wednesday, October 22. In a Facebook post, she said her husband “loved life more than anyone I’ve ever met” and “fought fiercely ‘til the very end.”

Langit had earlier revealed that he was diagnosed with spondylodiscitis, a serious infection in the spine. His wake will be held at Phoenix Memorial Chapels in Santa Rosa, Laguna from October 23 to 26, and at St. Peter Urdaneta from October 27 to 29.

A Pinoy Dream Academy Season 1 finalist in 2006, Langit was best known for his viral hit “Selfie Song” and for writing the award-winning “Dalawang Letra” in the 2016 Himig Handog P-Pop Love Songs competition.
