TOP 5 SADDEST FINAL FANTASY MOMENTS ๐Ÿ’”

Final Fantasy has given us unforgettable heroes, villains, and adventures.

But sometimes, what stays with us the longest are the moments that broke our hearts.

These are the scenes I still think about years after the credits rolled.

#5 Class Zero's Final Stand (FF Type-0)

After enduring countless battles and sacrifices, the students of Class Zero finally achieve the peace they fought so hard for. But they never get to enjoy it themselves. One by one, they collapse on the battlefield, exhausted and wounded beyond saving. Instead of celebrating victory, they spend their final moments talking about the future they dreamed of having. It's a heartbreaking reminder that some heroes never make it home.

#4 The King's Sacrifice (FFXV)

From the very beginning, Noctis wanted a normal life with his friends and the woman he loved. But fate had other plans. After years of loss, hardship, and responsibility, he learns that the only way to save the world is to sacrifice himself. What makes it even more painful is knowing that he accepts his destiny without hesitation. The final campfire scene with the boys and his farewell still hits hard to this day.

#3 Zack's Last Stand (Crisis Core)

Zack Fair was never the chosen hero. He wasn't the legendary SOLDIER everyone remembers. Yet when everything falls apart, he chooses to stand his ground against an entire army just to protect his best friend. As the odds become impossible, he keeps fighting. Not because he thinks he'll win, but because Cloud's future is worth protecting. Knowing exactly how his story ends only makes every second of that battle more painful.

#2 Tidus Fades Away (FFX)

After defeating Sin and finally bringing peace to Spira, Tidus discovers the truth about his existence. The victory everyone fought for comes with a terrible cost. As Yuna runs toward him, hoping to embrace him one last time, she passes right through him. In a single moment, the future they dreamed about disappears. The music, the silence, and Yuna's attempt to hold on make this one of the most emotional endings in gaming history.

#1 Aerith's Death (FFVII)

Few moments in gaming have shocked players the way this one did. Aerith wasn't just another party member. She was a source of hope, kindness, and optimism throughout the journey. Just when it seemed like her story was only beginning, everything changed in an instant. There was no heroic last stand. No final speech. No miracle rescue. Just loss. Decades later, people still remember exactly how they felt the first time they witnessed it.

Some stories never leave us.

Which Final Fantasy moment hit you the hardest?

And if you could add one more scene to this list, what would it be?

Every Final Fantasy game is only as good as its villain.

Some villains wanted power.

Some wanted revenge.

Some wanted to save the world in their own twisted way.

And some actually succeeded in destroying it.

This ranking is based on impact, character writing, story relevance, legacy, and how memorable they were long after the credits rolled.

I already know this list is going to upset some people. ๐Ÿ˜…

So let's hear it:

Who deserves the #1 spot?

And which villain did I rank way too high or way too low?

Bonus question:

Who is the greatest Final Fantasy villain of all time: Sephiroth or Kefka?
