NEWS UPDATE: Secretary of Justice Jesus Crispin Remulla has confirmed that asset freeze orders have been issued against Senators Joel Villanueva and Jinggoy Estrada, Representative Zaldy Co, former Representative Mitch Cajayon, former DPWH engineer Henry Alcantara, and retired DPWH Undersecretary Roberto Bernardo today, September 23.

The NBI also recommended the filing of charges for indirect bribery and malversation of public funds against these individuals who are allegedly involved in anomalous flood control projects.

JUST IN: Far Eastern University Central Student Organization and Institute Student Councils take a stand against police brutality, highlighting the “excessive use of force by the police” in the recent 53rd Martial Law anniversary demonstrations, in a unity statement today, September 22.

“Rallies are meant to be demonstrations that amplify the voice of the people; however, this afternoon’s events were twisted into violence that sought to silence our calls. What we are witnessing is not a fruit of democratic protest, but the violent silencing of voices that seek justice and change,” the statement read.
