Due to the surge of inquiries I got on how to apply for a Japan visa here's how to secure one.
EASY – PEASY GUIDE IN APPLYING FOR A JAPAN TOURIST VISA:
1.COLLECT ALL THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
🔴Philippine passport
Must be valid for at least 6 months. Broken passports are not accepted. Must have 2 blank pages and submit it without a cover.
🔴 Visa application form
Print the application form on A4 size paper.Fill it up neatly in BOLD letters without erasures. Don’t leave any blank. Just put N/A to the questions not applicable to you.
🔴Japan Visa Photo
Have it from the photo center just tell them you need a Japan Visa photo and they already know the size. Write your name and birthdate on the back side. Paste it on the application form.
🔴Birth certificate from PSA
It must be issued within the past one year from PSA Main Office or Serbilis Outlet Center Nationwide. If the birth certificate is marked LATE REGISTRATION, you must also submit a Baptismal Certificate, School Record (Form 137), and School Yearbook (if applicable). The address of the church or school must be indicated in the documents.
🔴Marriage certificate from PSA
Applicable to married applicants only. Must be issued within the past year from PSA.
🔴Schedule of stay
Your daily itinerary in Japan. It doesn’t have to be detailed. Just list your day to day activities or the sights and attractions you wanted to visit.
2.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A. For Self-funded applicants meaning you’re applying without a sponsor/ guarantor the following requirements are listed below:
🔴📍Latest Income Tax Return (Form 2316) The embassy requires both the original copy and a clear photocopy. NO ITR? It’s not a problem just write a comprehensive letter of explanation stating the reason/s why you cannot submit one.
🔴📍Bank certificate and Bank Statements (submit original copies) submit your latest 3 months bank statements.
🔴Employed applicants– must submit a certificate of employment – includes the company’s name and a number of years in the service.
🔴Self–employed/ Businessmen applicants– are required to submit
📍Business permit and license
📍DTI permit
For applicants who have guarantors living in the Philippines, below are the additional requirements:
📍Letter of guarantee
📍Proof of your relationship with your guarantor
🔴 Submit a document that proves your ties or relationship to your guarantor such as birth certificate and photos together.
📍Guarantor’s bank certificate
It should be valid for 3 months from the date of the issue.
📍Guarantor’s latest Income Tax Return (Form 2316)
3.SUBMISSIONS OF DOCUMENTS
Japanese Embassy doesn’t require personal interview and appearance, just submit your complete documents and application form to an “accredited travel agency” and pay for the processing fee. The fee varies depending on your chosen travel agency usually ranges from PHP 950.00 to PHP 2,000.00.
I was lucky I got mine from Universal Holidays (UHI) for only PHP 500.00 during the Philippine Travel Tour Expo (PTTA ) promo.
🔴 Japan Visa is FREE, however since you are applying thru accredited travel agency it’s not totally free, listed below are some of my tips for a higher chance of visa approval based on my personal experience:
📍Supply all the documents you have to increase your chance of approval since I do not have an ITR I wrote a comprehensive cover letter stating why I couldn’t provide one, I jotted down reasons why I wanted to visit Japan, all the countries I’ve been visited to convince the Consul that I am a “genuine tourist”. Along with my application I submitted my bank certificate and latest credit card statement to prove that I can afford to fund my visit, I also submitted my business permits and certifications and stocks policies as evidence of my “strong ties” in the Philippines.
📍Do not forget to sign on the application form, there were cases where the visa was denied just because the applicant forgets his/her signature.
📍Lastly, pray to get that Visa approval😊.
If you see a white sticker at the back of your passport it indicates Visa granted, if the red sticker is there means Visa denied.
SO GOODLUCK!
DISCLAIMER:
I am not an expert in Japan Visa I am just like you who wanted to travel the world. No one can guarantee your visa approval even accredited travel agencies. All the information mentioned above is based on my personal experience when I applied for my Japan visa at that particular time.
