LOOK: The graduating engineering students of batch 2026 gather at the UST Open Field for the send-off activities today, May 29.

The evening send-off activities will feature several segments, including the “Lumina Pandit” Ceremony of Light, a fireworks display, and the graduates’ exit through the Arch of the Centuries.

⭐️HONORING A HALF-CENTURY LEGACY⭐️

The UST Chemical Engineering Society (ChES) celebrated its 50th anniversary as the reactor ignited for the 2026 Chemical Engineering (ChE) Week last February 23 to 27.

The week-long celebration launched with its opening ceremony, "In the Reactor of Time: The Che Week Opening Ceremony 2026," at the Fr. Roque Ruano Left Quadrangle and continued with several daily events.

Originally scheduled for March 7, ChE Night 2026 took place on April 18 to formally conclude the celebration for the half-century legacy of UST ChES at the Buenaventura Garcia Paredes, O.P. Lobby and Mezzanine.

STAY GROUNDED: EE WEEK 2026 ⚡🔌

With the theme “Can’t Feel My Phase: Electrical Engineering Week 2026,” the Electrical Engineering (EE) Department celebrated EE Week 2026 last April 13 to April 18.

Held at the Fr. Roque Ruaño Building Quadrangle, the opening event officially kicked off the week-long celebration, bringing together EE students and faculty for a series of activities filled with learning, competition, and community spirit.

Highlights included the leadership seminar “Hold On, We’re Going Ohm: From Circuit to CommunitEEs,” the Amazing Race “What’s going OHM: The Quest of Awesomeness,” and “Quiz Me Maybe?: Quiz Bee,” where students from different year levels competed in challenges that tested knowledge, quick thinking, and teamwork.

ADVISORY: The Faculty of Engineering releases the following information for the Baccalaureate Mass tomorrow, May 29, at the UST Grandstand and Open Field.

Room assignments for departments holding their Meet the Parents in the morning (Civil, Mechanical, & Electrical) are to be announced.

ADVISORY: The University released the official schedule and guidelines for the Baccalaureate Mass and graduation rites of the Class of 2026, set on May 29.

The Baccalaureate Mass at the Quadricentennial Pavilion will be held in morning and afternoon batches, while the post-Mass program at the UST Grandstand and Open Field begins at 6 PM and will feature graduation traditions and ceremonies, including the “Lumina Pandit” Ceremony of Light and the Triumphal Exit through the Arch of the Centuries.

The University also announced a campus-wide “carless day” during the celebration.

May 26, 2026 – The UST Chemical Engineering Society (ChES) proclaimed its newly elected Executive Board for Academic Year 2026-2027 yesterday, May 25, following a four-day voting period.

Independent candidate Franzid Karlos Gurango won the presidency with a 32-point lead, while, the Catalyst Party secured the remaining executive seats, with Jannah Marie Manay elected as Executive Secretary, Kyron Vince Siazon as VP for Academic Affairs, and Khent Lawrence Veloria as VP for Social Welfare.

The elections were conducted online from May 20 to 24 via Google Forms featured on the organization's official page.
