𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗲𝗲𝗹: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 '𝗕𝘂𝗸𝗮𝘀, 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝘁𝗮𝘀, 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗮' 𝗖𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗪𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘀 𝗨𝗽 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗮𝗳𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀
The success of the 'Bukas, Ligtas, Malaya' campaign, launched by the Polytechnic University of the Philippines - Department of Advertising and Public Relations (PUP-DAPR) on July 27, 2023, warrants reflection. This initiative is a clarion call for safe spaces within the LGBTQIA+ community, garnered support from partners like the Film Aficionados Circle and the Caloocan Young Leaders Initiative, resonating far and wide with the PUP Creative Media Artists Society as the official media partner.
The campaign deftly employed short films premiering "Yakap sa Dilim" and "Taguan" on August 9, 2023. These short films were windows into the LGBTQIA+ community's real struggles, aspirations, and the craving for spaces of freedom.
As the campaign wraps up, its reach endures. The short films are accessible on the Bukas Ligtas Malaya page, extending conversations beyond borders and uniting a wide audience.
