CELEBRATING PHILIPPINE ANIMATION AT MIFA!

The Philippines made a vibrant impact at MIFA 2025 in Annecy, France, through the Philippine Pavilion. It successfully cultivated business-to-business connections, showcasing Filipino animation artistry and ingenuity to international partners.

Highlights included the Philippine Reception, Phili-Pitch, and a delegates' dinner. A key initiative was the three-way networking event at the Taiwan Pavilion, a partnership with TAICCA (Taiwan) and VIPO (Japan), fostering significant industry connections and collaborations. The screening of "Another World"—a co-production by Point Five Creations (Hong Kong), Silver Media Group PTE LTD (Singapore), and Overmind Corporation (Philippines)—also saw sold-out tickets.

These efforts signal the Philippines' rising influence in global animation. Mabuhay to all Filipino talents at MIFA 2025!

PH ANIMATION MAKES WAVES AT MIFA 2025!

On the opening day of the Marché International du Film d’Animation (MIFA) at Annecy, Filipino animation is already making headlines both in the festival and in the global market with three standout projects!

“Zsazsa Zaturnnah” by Rocketsheep Studio takes the stage in the Work in Progress section under Festival Meetings at the Annecy Festival, joining the ranks of titles like “Into the Spider-Verse” and "Flow” that have previously been featured in this category. As a Film Philippines Incentives grantee, “Zsazsa Zaturnnah” exemplifies how locally supported projects can break through to the global stage.

“Sun Chaser” by Toon City, is selected for the MIFA Pitches under the TV Series and Specials category. This exciting original IP is now being presented to a global audience of broadcasters, producers, distributors, and investors.

Representing the Philippines at the SEA Pitch under Partnered Pitch, “Anito” by Puppeteer Studios joins select projects from Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. The project was chosen for a collaborative workshop with two French mentors and a Singaporean mentor in Kuala Lumpur before being featured at the MIFA market.

The Philippines’ strong creative presence at MIFA 2025 reflects the growing visibility of Filipino animation and the global appeal of Southeast Asian storytelling.

Congratulations to our Filipino Animators at MIFA 2025!

UNITED ASIAN VOICES: THE PHILIPPINES AT THE HEART OF GLOBAL COLLABORATIONS IN CANNES

The Philippine delegation kept the momentum going with a powerhouse lineup of events, starting with the highly anticipated AFAN roundtable meeting attended by the Chairman and CEO of the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), Jose Javier Reyes.

The action continued at the Philippine-Singapore Pavilion. The Philippine-Singapore Hour networking event further strengthened the two nation’s ties beyond film. A B2B Matching Hour also brought together industry leaders from the Philippines, Korea, and the UK, while a focused dialogue between Filipino and Singaporean producers set the stage for a stronger Asian voice in global cinema. Discussions about future collaborations didn't stop there. A speedy project pitching event happened simultaneously, where “Magnetic Letters,” a documentary by Demie Dangla, was pitched to an international audience.

Capping off a day of meaningful connections and productive activities, the Philippine Delegates dinner celebrated the talents and visionaries who continue to elevate Philippine cinema globally.
