Few takeaways from their run all throughout Season 16:

Peak performance at the right time: Aurora Gaming had only lost once while Team Liquid never won against them during the entire season including the Upper Bracket Finals. However, Team Liquid didn’t just show up — they dominated when it mattered. A 4-0 grand final sweep is a compelling evidence.

Bracket management and stamina: They managed the path such that they emerged fresh and sharp for the final. The playoff structure rewards fewer mistakes and strong mid-series adaptation.

Mental strength and legacy building: Back-to-back titles don’t just happen by skill alone — mindset, composure, and cohesion matter a lot. Team Liquid exhibited these.

Drafting & preparation edge: Their ability to adapt across series was superior; opponents had fewer answers for them in the final.

Here are some of the major narratives heading into the playoffs:

• Can Aurora Gaming finally convert dominance into a championship?

Aurora finished the regular season with the best record; however, last season they faltered in the playoffs despite a strong regular season.

So the big question: will they deliver under pressure this time?

• Team Liquid PH’s redemption arc and international aspirations

Team Liquid PH has been performing strongly, including success in international events, so the focus is on whether they can win the national title and secure one of the world-championship berths.

• Underdogs & breakout teams

Twisted Minds PH and TNC Pro Team both have elements of surprise and improvement. Twisted Minds in particular have rookies and fresh energy that might upset some favorites.

• Experienced contenders

ONIC Philippines remains consistent and dangerous; their aim is to stay composed and go deep. Also, Team Falcons PH had a rough regular season but made the cut — can they build momentum and cause upsets?

• Stakes: Beyond just the trophy

Because the top two finishers will represent the Philippines at the M7 World Championship, there’s added pressure — every match counts.

Aurora Gaming clearly separated themselves from the pack with a dominant 13-1 record and high game-win differential (+16).

ONIC PH and Team Liquid PH were competitive contenders behind Aurora, both finishing 8-5 and posting positive game differentials.

The mid-table (Twisted Minds, TNC) posted losing records but weren’t completely off the pace; they hovered closer to break-even in series wins though game differentials were negative.

The bottom three (Team Falcons, Omega, AP.Bren) all finished 5-9 or worse in match W-L, and their large negative differentials suggest they often lost series more decisively (in terms of games) rather than via close margins.

Specifically, AP.Bren’s −10 game differential and only 4 match wins indicate they struggled most across both series count and game count.
