Anyone remember Konami's first attempt at making a 3D Fighter? Its called Kensei Sacred Fist (a.k.a. Bugi)

- With a solid roster of 22 characters,
- Douglas one of the characters, who was clearly inspired by Steven Seagal XD
- It also had decent OSTs for each stage
- It has cool yet wierd mini racing game LOL

Sadly, during that time, the 3D fighting genre was completely dominated by titans like Tekken, Virtua Fighter, and Soul Blade (Soulcalibur). Kensei struggled to compete for a few reasons:

- The music, as mentioned, wasn't memorable.
- There were no ending cutscenes or a clear, compelling story mode.
- While it had many characters, they lacked the necessary "flavor" or uniqueness to stand out.

It makes sense why the game didn't meet Konami's expectations and why no sequel was ever made. It was an interesting attempt at blending influences from its bigger rivals, but it fell short of capturing the market.

Who else spent more time on the bonus racing game? 😂

What's Up FGC Fam! In case you missed it:

The The Game Awards has announced the runners-up for the Fighting Game of the Year! Here's the list of nominees and my hot take on this.

- 2XKO (Still In Closed Beta Test)
- Capcom Fighting Collection 2 (Compilation of Retro Games)
- Fatal Fury: City of The Wolves (Full game + Free DLCs)
- Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection (Compilation of Retro Games)
-Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. World Stage (5th Remaster of the 5th installment)

Who Deserves It?:
- On paper, and definitely the deserving winner is Fatal Fury: COTW for obvious reasons! It's the only full, new game among these nominees. The game is fun and has cool DLCs, and speaking of DLCs THEY ARE FREE. So, FF:COTW should win this!

For Solely Fun Factor:
- If we're just talking about pure fun factor or complete enjoyment, for me, it's 2XKO. Yes, among these nominees, 2XKO was the most genuine-fun fighting game that I've played for the longest time. I know it's still in closed beta test and has a lot of things that need to be improved, but the unique 2v2 and easy-to-play nature for newcomers actually helps and encourages people to try out fighting games. Plus the Devs actually listen to the community both pro and non pro. So I won't be mad if 2XKO actually won. But this is just my opinion, though!
