Things I realized in my late 20s
Lately, I’ve been realizing that growing up is actually kind of weird.
When I was younger, I thought by this age, I’d have everything figured out.
A stable career.
Enough money.
A clear direction in life.
Maybe even a little house and a family.
But now that I’m here… I honestly don’t know what I’m doing half the time.
And I’ve realized that’s okay.
I realized that not everyone I started with will still be beside me.
Some friendships become distant.
Some people leave without any big fight.
And sometimes, you just outgrow each other.
I realized that I don’t have to say yes to everything anymore.
I can say no.
I can change my mind.
I can choose peace without feeling guilty about it.
I also realized that everyone is on a different timeline.
Someone I know might already be successful while I’m still trying to figure things out.
And honestly? Good for them.
Their progress doesn’t mean I’m failing.
I’m learning to stop comparing my behind-the-scenes to someone else’s highlight reel.
And maybe the biggest thing I’ve learned…
I don’t need to have my whole life figured out right now.
I’m still learning.
I’m still making mistakes.
I’m still changing my mind.
And maybe that’s what your late 20s are supposed to look like.
Not having everything together… but slowly figuring out what actually matters to you.
So if you’re in your late 20s and you feel like you’re behind— same.
Maybe we’re not behind.
Maybe we’re just taking our time. 🤍
