TAWI-TAWI (46/82) 🇵🇭

Touchdown Tawi-Tawi. I live in Luzon all my life and reaching the southernmost part of the Philippine archipelago is definitely a travel achievement for me. Tawi-Tawi gave us an experience of a lifetime, stories that I am proud to share that this province is a must-visit, that you have to actually go there to feel its beauty. Since is a DIY tour, we arranged our tour and accommodation with our kind host and tour guide, Ate Sidang and Kuya Ben. Our stay was short but on our next visit, we’ll make sure to explore more including Sitangkai, Tawi-Tawi’s Venice of the South.

SULU (45/82) 🇵🇭

During our ZamBaSulTa adventure, Sulu stunned us the most. The long boat journey and all preparations were all worth it the moment we set foot on its land. Beaches, food, culture, people - name it, the province has it all and has so much more to offer. Let’s promote Sulu tourism because the world needs to know how beautiful this place is. To go here, make sure to coordinate with Sulu Provincial Tourism Office to book your tours. We stayed for 2d1n but honestly wished we stayed longer.

BASILAN (44/82) 🇵🇭

Basilan is reachable via ferry with less than 2 hours away from/to Zamboanga. To maximize our daytrip visit, we took the first trip and went straight ahead to the Pahali Resort in Malamawi Island via a tricycle. We had the place to ourselves (perks of traveling on a weekday), beach bummed all morning and enjoyed this lunch feast before heading back to Zamboanga. This was the most sulit lublob we had during ZamBaSulTa, as if the waves didn’t want us to leave yet.

ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR (43/82) 🇵🇭

Bienvenidos a Ciudad de Zamboanga! Welcome to the vibrant Asia’s Latin City, the entry/exit point for our 8-day ZamBaSulTa trip. There’s so much to see and do (and eat!) in Zamboanga, making it one of Mindanao’s highly urbanized cities. Everything is just colorful - history, food, language. We missed the Vintas in Sta. Cruz Island because of the typhoon during our stay but that’s an added reason to go back! Plus, I miss the Satti and Knickerbocker already.

SOUTH COTABATO (42/82) 🇵🇭

How to go there?
For Lake Holon: From Sultan Kudarat, ride bus to Koronadal then Surallah. From Surallah, ride van going to T’Boli then tricycle to hotel. We stayed at Blue Quartz Inn that is near to Lake Holon.
For Lake Sebu: From Terminal, ride van to Surallah then jeep dropping off at Greenbox. We stayed at SLT Homestay (TBoli house) that is near to Lotus Garden. We rented our attire here too.

SULTAN KUDARAT (41/82) 🇵🇭

Sultan Kudarat is a Mindanaoan hero who defended Islam and Philippine liberty against Spain. More than its history, there’s so much to see in the province - La Palmera Mountain Ridge, Pangadilan Falls, Esperanza Halo-Halo and SK Provincial Capitol.

How to go there?
May buses either from GenSan or Cotabato route, drop off at Tacurong for an overnight stay. We stayed at 1st City Lodge sa Tacurong malapit sa Esperanza at Capitol at sa Columbio naman na malapit sa La Palmera at Pangadilan, sa La Mercedes Inn kami nagstay. Contact tour guide: Jeff Abid
