IN TODAY'S Kapihan sa Manila Hotel, we were honored to hear from the President and CEO of the National Power Corporation, Pres. Fernando Martin "Nani" Roxas, who reiterated NAPOCOR's commitment to finding sustainable and affordable energy solutions for all Filipinos. He called for collaborative efforts among the government, private sector, and communities to overcome challenges in the power sector and to build a more resilient and electrified nation.
We also heard from Atty. Chris Bendijo, Chief of Staff and Spokesperson of the Office of Civil Defense, who highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen the country's disaster resilience. He emphasized that preparedness is a shared responsibility and specifically addressed concerns about structural integrity in the face of seismic events and extreme weather. โWe have achieved a certain level of preparedness regardless of the season,โ he stated.
