NCAP VIOLATES EQUAL PROTECTION CLAUSE

Read in the link below why in the end, it is only us — the law-abiding motorists — who could be the subjects of NCAP. The others can get away scot-free, courtesy of the incomplete records of the LTO and the inefficiency of the MMDA in enforcing the no-plate-no-travel policy.

This is a clear violation of the equal protection clause.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., in what he termed as a "bold reset," told his entire Cabinet to tender their courtesy resignations to enable him to "recalibrate" his administration.

To fully achieve a "bold reset," President Marcos Jr. should have included the sub-cabinet positions and heads of agencies in the firing line. This way, he could achieve the "realignment" and "recalibration" that he wanted in the first place.

Yet, he chose not to. As it is, the anticipated "bold reset" is simply a "timid restart."

The Alyansa ng Nagkakaisang Mamamayan (ANIM) and the Church Leaders Council for National Transformation (CLCNT) presented their "Eight Areas of the Election Results that are Very Disturbing."

For the benefit of readers unfamiliar with this topic, I am reproducing here the observations raised by ANIM/CLCNT and the corresponding responses from Comelec.

MMDA CAN'T TOUCH P. OCAMPO ST.

I challenge the MMDA: Clear P. Ocampo Street of all traffic obstructions. If Chairman Artes and his agency cannot effectively address issues on this single thoroughfare, they have no business asking Metro Manila residents to report illegally parked vehicles, street vendors and other road obstructions throughout the metropolis. Without concrete action, this latest call for public cooperation is merely another publicity stunt by the MMDA -designed to create the illusion of achievement.
