REALISTIC TUESDAY ROUTINE:

One of the heaviest days of my week would be Tuesdays and Thursdays because I teach from 7am to 10am which is followed by my research hours.

Here’s how I manage full days:
• I wake up at 4:45am to prepare for the day and leave the house to go to school by 5:45am.
• I usually arrive at school by 6:00am and once I’m parked, I do a quick makeup routine followed by eating my breakfast.
• By 6:30am-6:45am, I go to the department and prepare for my 7am-10am classes (both classes are of the same course so that’s a single prep)
• I have my 7:00am-10:00am classes and then spend the rest of the day in the lab

Once I arrive home, I focus on rest which is then followed by planning for the next day and resetting my headspace before I sleep.

And that’s just two days of my week. 😅

Here’s something you probably don’t know yet:

I start planning for the following week on Fridays and finalize things on Sundays. I usually do this after a day’s work as a reset.

Another thing that I wanted to share about this week is that I was able to order my 2026 Hobonichi Weeks with the En Route to Kumamoto Port at Dawn Cover by Kyohei Sakaguchi. I’ve been using my hobo weeks for gratitude and daily journaling. 🖋️

Writing a scientific paper can feel overwhelming — especially when you’re staring at a blank screen for hours. What’s helped me most (and what helped me start again) is treating writing like a series of small, intentional sprints rather than a never-ending marathon.

I use the Pomodoro method — 25 minutes of focused writing, 5 minutes of gentle rest. It’s simple, but powerful. Paired with my FOCI.AI wearable, I can actually see my focus patterns and get little nudges when I drift. It’s like having a quiet accountability partner during every session.

Over time, this rhythm has made writing feel lighter, more sustainable, and even a little more joyful. 🌸
