FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL HACKS 🏫 📌
(to academically excel for the whole school year 👩🏻💻)
📚 Study tips from ky Nic's ✨
Quick reminder: the first day of school isn’t just orientation or intro–intro lang. If you’re aiming for honors / high honors / highest honors, here’s why I take the first day seriously:
📌 1. First impression lasts.
If your teacher sees you paying attention, prepared, and active from Day 1, that’s what they’ll remember.
→ Hindi para i-pressure kayo to be perfect, pero the first day does set the tone for the year. Show that you care — kahit simpleng pakikinig lang muna!
📌 2. Teachers usually tell you HOW to WIN
Maraming teachers spill all the important info on the first day:
* How grading works
* If they give more weight to recitations, written works, or performance tasks
* What kind of student they value (participative ba? punctual? magaling magsulat?)
Use this info to plan where to focus your energy para hindi ka sabog midyear 😭
Some subjects will require bibo energy, some will reward written excellence more. Alamin mo agad.
📌 3. It’s your one chance to listen while things are still light.
First day = no backlog, no pressure. That’s the perfect time to focus, observe, and get ahead by taking note of the structure of each subject. Mahirap maghabol pag late ka na nagka-strategy. 🥲
☁️ What I do:
– Bring a notebook just for first day notes (teacher reminders, grading system, seatwork/recit info)
– Introduce yourself confidently. This is your rep-building moment!
– Listen closely to what they say is “important” or “madalas lumabas” — those are clues!
– Be present & prepared (dala ka ballpen at utak pls 😭)
– After school, try to write a quick summary of your Day 1 insights. It helps long-term retention!
Of course, the first day won’t determine everything, but it can give you a huge advantage if you use it wisely.
