Celeste Cortesi Donates ₱10 Million to Cebu and Davao Earthquake Relief Efforts
Former Miss Universe Philippines Celeste Cortesi has extended a helping hand to earthquake-stricken communities in Cebu and Davao through a generous ₱10 million donation. The contribution was made through the Azul Hope Foundation, which she co-founded with philanthropist Jonathan Sterling.
The donation was allocated to support relief efforts in two major regions recently affected by powerful earthquakes:
 • For Cebu, the aid was coursed through the Angat Buhay Foundation, known for its swift and community-focused disaster response.
 • For Davao, the relief efforts were coordinated with the Philippine Red Cross, one of the country’s most trusted humanitarian organizations.
In a statement, Cortesi expressed her solidarity with those affected by the disasters:
“In times of tragedy, we must come together as a nation. Through the Azul Hope Foundation, we are committed to being a source of support and hope for our fellow Filipinos.”
Through these generous acts, many Filipinos were reminded of Cortesi’s iconic moment at the Miss Universe pageant, where she donned the Darna-inspired national costume—a powerful symbol of strength and heroism in Filipino culture. Now, with her continued efforts off the stage, supporters have called her a “real-life superhero” for using her platform and resources to create lasting impact.
The Azul Hope Foundation was established with a mission to empower communities through education, healthcare, and disaster relief. This latest initiative further highlights the foundation’s—and Cortesi’s—commitment to meaningful change and humanitarian action.
Relief operations are ongoing, with both partner organizations actively distributing aid and coordinating with local authorities to reach the most affected areas.
