A little thing I do before buying more toddler activities 🙂

I’ve learned that I don’t always need to buy something new.

✅ Sometimes I just need to see what we already have.
✅ Mix and match a few toys to make a “new” activity.
✅ Bring older toys back into sight.
✅ Rotate her favorites for a while.
✅ Make a quick note of what we’re actually running low on.

It’s helped me buy more intentionally…

and make the most of what we’ve already collected over time.

Plus…

it saves me from accidentally buying something we already have. 🙂

My brain doesn’t switch from mom mode to work mode as fast as I wish it did. 😂  
  
The old me would’ve blamed myself for not having enough time to work.  
  
Turns out…  
  
having more time wasn’t actually my biggest problem. 🤎  
  
Sometimes I’d finally get the work window I’d been waiting for…  
  
ONLY to spend the first 15–30 minutes deciding WHAT to do.  
  
Should I do one more mom thing?   
Or should I finally start working?  
  
Then I realized something…  
  
I’ve already been doing mom stuff all day.  
  
So when I finally get a little work window,  
  
I should use it TO DO THE WORK.  
  
The challenge is that switching into work mode doesn’t happen instantly.  
  
That’s why I give myself a few minutes to get clear on what I need to do BEFORE I start.  
  
Because when my brain knows where to focus…  
I spend less time thinking and more time making progress.  
  
Does it take you a while to switch into work mode too?

I already have enough decisions to make every day ⬇️
 
What to cook for my toddler. 
When to work. 
Whether my toddler is actually sleepy… or just pretending. 😅 
 
So when it’s finally time to create content… 
I don’t want to spend half my work window deciding on fonts, colors, or layouts. 
 
I just want to start. 
 
Making this part of my workflow simpler has made content feel so much lighter. 
 
Less overthinking. 
Less staring at a blank Canva page. 
More time actually sharing what I want to say. 🤎

She’s been part of this business from the very beginning 💓 
 
Not because she helps me work… 
 
Definitely not 😂  
 
But because she’s there for almost all of it. 
 
she’s seen me get lost 
figure things out 
celebrate little wins.

because she needed me instead. 
 
One day she’ll probably have no memory of these little moments. 
But I will. 
 
Because this business isn’t something I built 'despite' motherhood. 
 
It’s something I’ve built 'alongside' it. 
 
And I think that’s pretty special. 🤎

This is usually all I need. 🤎 
 
People sometimes imagine I have long stretches of uninterrupted work. 
 
I don’t. 
 
Sometimes I get ten minutes. 
Sometimes twenty. 
Sometimes just enough time to reply to a message… 
 
or schedule a post. 
 
And honestly? That’s enough. 
 
Because enough tiny work windows… 
have slowly built this business.

Some days my work window only lasts 20 minutes. 
Some days it’s an hour if I’m lucky. 
 
But this little moment… 
when the house gets quiet, 
my coffee is reheated for the nth time 🤪 
and I finally get to work on something that’s mine… 
 
always feels like a fresh start. 
 
I don’t expect perfect focus anymore. 
I don’t expect to finish everything. 
I’m simply grateful for whatever time I have. 
 
Because enough little work windows… 
have slowly built this business.

My definition of a productive day looks very different these days. 
 
There was a time when I would’ve looked at a day like this and thought… 
 
“I barely got anything done.” 
 
Now? I see it differently. 
 
I cared for my family. 
I found little moments for my business. 
And I still finished one important task. 
 
That’s not falling behind. 
That’s building a business in this season of life. 
One ordinary day at a time. 🤎 
 
What’s one thing you got done today?

I did something differently before planning July… 🤎 
 
This month, I chose to go back to the goals I set for myself at the beginning of the year. 
 
Not because I expect everything to go exactly as planned. 
 
Life changes. 
Priorities shift. 
There are things I’ve learned. 
Motherhood definitely keeps me on my toes. 😅 
 
But looking back helps me ask: 
✨ Does this still matter? 
✨ Am I moving toward the life I’m trying to build? 
✨ What needs to change this month? 
 
Then I plan from there. 
 
It’s become one of my favorite little monthly rituals. 
 
Not because planning makes life perfect… 
but because it helps me move forward with intention instead of just staying busy. 🤎

This is what building my business looks like in this season 🤎  
  
Some days…my business gets 20 minutes.  
Some days…it gets an hour.  
Some days…it gets nothing at all. 😅  
  
And to be honest...  
I’ve stopped fighting that season.  
  
Instead of waiting for the perfect workday…  
I’ve learned to work with the one I have.  
  
So I try to work…  
🤎 while nursing (usually on my phone 😅)  
🤎 while she’s happily playing or having a little screen time  
🤎 during nap time  
🤎 when my husband gets home from work  
🤎 when she’s playing with grandma, grandpa, or uncle  
🤎 after I finally put her to bed  
  
That’s how I keep my business moving forward.  
  
Not because every day is productive.  
But because I keep coming back to it.  
Little by little.  
 
That’s been enough. 🤎

My brain has a habit of making everything feel urgent. 😅 
 
Toddler things. 
House things. 
Business things. 
Random ideas. 
Things we’re running out of. 
Content ideas that pop into my head at 2 a.m. 
Things I don’t want to forget. 
 
When it all stays in my head… 
it starts feeling like I have to do everything right now. 
 
So before I even think about working… 
I brain dump. 
 
Not because it magically solves everything… 
but because it helps me separate: 
 
✨ what actually needs my attention today… 
✨and what can wait. 
 
It’s one of the simplest habits that’s helped me feel calmer as a mom building a business. 🤎
