That was me—Jonami—12 weeks ago. ✨

If my life were a Marvel movie, this internship was the 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆. I stepped into the world of Social Media Management under Coach Joanna, and the training montage was real:

𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝟭: Finding the suit. Learning the tools and realizing na hindi lang pala ito "post-post" lang. 🫨

𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝟮: Testing the powers. Learning how to create emotional resonance that actually hits.

𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝟯: The Final Battle. Realizing that being a "quiet observer" was actually my superpower as a Community Manager. 🦸‍♀️

Now, the credits are rolling for my 3-month internship chapter! 🎓

What's it actually like to be a Community Manager Intern under Coach Joanna • Content to Income?

Let me give you a sneak peek. 👀 (from one of her interns)

First of all — si Coach na ‘yan. So that alone should already tell you something.

But beyond that?

You discover things about yourself that you didn't even know were there: skills, mindsets, attitudes.

A course is good. But there's something different about doing the actual work.

You gain real experience. Not theory. Real, lived, "I did this" experience!

You build connections. And that goes way beyond social media management.

You become a leader. That's for you to find out.

I got this so wrong.

When I started as a 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 Intern (yes, the role that's literally all about showing up and engaging), I was lowkey nervous.

Why?

Because I'm a lurker. A quiet observer. And I honestly thought this space only belonged to the loudest person in the room, yung bida-bida types.

But here's the plot twist:

𝗟𝗼𝘂𝗱𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆. ✨

Now, it makes me wonder.

Ever been on a date with someone na maganda or pogi sa picture…

But when you two started talking, wala siyang substance?

It's not that they're ugly. It's that you felt nothing.

I was at a film viewing with Ms. Bela Padilla once, and she said something that stuck with me about storytelling:

"𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹."

That line lives in my head rent-free, especially now in branding.

I've been observing the local marketing scene lately. Everyone is caught up in the 'tactics':

Best time to post. Trending audio. Aesthetics. Polish.

Kasi yan yung sinasabi sa'tin, diba? Yan yung may "guaranteed engagement."

Pero pagdating sa message… hmm, flat.

Here's what I've learned:

Aesthetics and timing aren't the enemy. They're amplifiers.

A beautiful reel signals care.
A trend is a cultural hook.
Good timing is respect for attention.

𝗕𝘂𝘁 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗿𝘁, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗳𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴?

Emotion gets the click.

Pero yung nag-convert? Nag-stay?

That's trust.

And trust isn't built sa ganda lang.

It's built through consistency. Proof. Follow-through.

Feeling something once is a spark.
Trust is why people don't ghost.

I know it's hard.

I know may quota ka. I know your client might just care about numbers.

But even in the smallest ways, can you ask:
"What do I want them to feel?"

At the end of the day, people don't leave brands because they're ugly.

They leave because they felt nothing.
