“As a candidate for this Intramurals, Miss CKCM Intramurals 2025, I believe in our theme Unity Builds Strength, Sportsmanship Brings Victory. How can I inspire students’ lives to go beyond competitions and live out CKCM’s values all year round? I believe that through our Intramurals journey, we should always be humble, respect each individual, and cheer everyone with compassion. Because I believe that throughout this Intramurals, competition is not the top year for all but how we unite, how we enjoy, how we build friendship, and carry the spirit of CKCM before, during, and after the games.”

The spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship filled the halls of Christ the King College de Maranding as students gathered for one of the most anticipated events of the year the Intramurals 2025. With the theme “Unity Builds Strength, Sportsmanship Brings Victory,” the event was a vibrant celebration of talent, teamwork, and determination. Amidst the cheers and applause, Gretz Paglinawan rose above the rest and was crowned Mr. Intramurals 2025 on October 27, 2025.

The annual Intramurals at Christ the King College de Maranding is more than just a showcase of athletic skills it is a celebration of unity and school spirit. This year’s theme emphasized the importance of coming together as one community, building strength through teamwork, and achieving victory through sportsmanship. For Mr. Gretz Paglinawan, the journey to the crown was not just about winning but about personal growth and self-discovery. Known for his humility and perseverance, Gretz proved that true confidence comes from embracing one’s weaknesses and turning them into strengths. Behind his calm presence and graceful demeanor on stage was a story of courage a young boy who once feared the spotlight but learned to stand tall before a crowd. His preparation, hard work, and unwavering belief in himself inspired everyone who witnessed his transformation.

As the final question echoed through the hall, Gretz delivered a heartfelt and powerful answer that captured not only the judges’ attention but also the hearts of the audience. When his name was finally announced as Mr. Intramurals 2025, the crowd erupted in applause and cheers, celebrating not just his victory, but his journey of growth and resilience.

“What makes me worthy of this title, it is not just because I am the best of the best. But I am the best of myself, because in my past years I was once a little boy who was scared to face the crowd, even stuttered to utter a single word. But now I see myself improving and conquering my own weaknesses to face the crowd and use my voice to win this crown tonight. Because I know that everyone is worthy, but I'm worthy because I show my best not just to shine for myself but to show everyone here tonight that I am worthy of this title, carrying the values of Christ the King de Maranding 2025.”

On behalf of the Crown and the entire CKCM family, we extend our deepest condolences on the passing of Mr. Anacleto Dolar Jr., a dedicated 53-year-old dean of the College of Arts and Social Sciences.

Mr. Dolar's impact went far beyond the classroom. He was a beacon of hope and optimism, a compassionate friend to colleagues, and an inspiring mentor to students. His kindness extended beyond humans, as he lovingly cared for stray animals on campus, earning him the title of "shepherd of strays."

As we mourn his loss, we take comfort in the memories of his warmth, kindness, and generosity. May we find strength in our collective grief and offer our prayers for his soul.

To Mr. Dolar, we say: your legacy will live on through the many lives you've touched. May your soul rest in peace, surrounded by the love of God and the memories of those who cherished you.

𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐈𝐍 | CKCM KNIGHTS DEFENDER EMERGES CHAMPION IN THE 1ST SEASON OF KAPATID INTERCOLLEGIATE VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT, OUTLASTING TC STALLIONS IN A HEART-STOPPING 5-SET THRILLER

The CKCM Knights Defender etched their name in history as the first-ever champions of the Kapatid Intercollegiate Volleyball Tournament after surviving an epic five-set showdown against the resilient TC Stallions.

Leading the charge was team captain Jevenick Gado, who proved why she wears the captain’s band: grit, leadership, and an unwavering heart.

The battle began with a stumble as the Knights dropped the opening set, 19-25. But champions don’t stay down. With renewed fire, they roared back in the second set, sealing it at 25-20.

Just when momentum seemed to shift, the third set told a different story. The Knights were overwhelmed and fell 14-25, putting them once again at the edge. Pressure mounted, but the Knights refused to crumble. A strategic rotation adjustment saw Christine Millang moving to open, while Gado, despite suffering cramps; fought through pain, refusing to be benched. Even during timeouts where the coaching staff tended to her, her message was clear: “I’m not done.”

Fueled by sheer determination, they claimed the fourth set, 25-21, dragging the match to a do-or-die fifth set.

AND WHAT A FINALE IT WAS.

Both teams left everything on the floor: every receive, every set, every spike echoed with desperation and passion. Then came the turning point: Glaiza Mae Ahon stepped up to the service line at 11 and never looked back, firing serve after serve until the Knights reached match point.

Game. Set. Championship. CKCM Knights Defender reign supreme.

Going into this season without our star setter, Eden Heart Salvacion, has been an uphill climb, and we felt it in that first set loss (22-25). But true champions don't fold.

They responded! An absolute masterclass in Set 2 (25-13) led by the service aces of Christine Millang, followed by a nail-biting third set where Captain Jevenick Gado dug deep and delivered. 15-11 victory is ours!

It was a three-set showdown that proved one thing: This team is unstoppable when they fight together. See you all tomorrow in the championship game against the Tubod Stallions! Let's bring home the gold! 🥇
