MARANDING, Lanao del Norte – Students at Christ the King de Maranding, Inc. (CKCM) took center stage during the school’s Nutrition Month celebration last July 30, 2025, rolling out a lively display of talent and meaningful discussion about food security. The event, with the theme “Food and Nutrition Security, Maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin!” wasn’t just another checkbox on the school calendar—it was buzzing with energy, with students clearly fired up about the cause.
Competitions were everywhere: video-making, slogan-writing, poster design—the works. Everyone brought their own flavor, but the message was clear: food security matters, and it’s everyone’s business. Allysa Mae Bolo and KG Miguel Generalao from the College of Education swept up first place with a video that presented their point clearly. Their message is Food and security—always a priority, no debate. Meanwhile, College of Business Administration’s Reyland S. Ebale dropped a slogan that got people talking. “Isang bayan, Isang Layunin. Pagkain para sa Lahat” It signifies that the fight for food security is not solely the government's responsibility, but a collective duty of society—from the government and organizations to farmers and every citizen. Having enough food is not a privilege, but a right for everyone, and through unity, it can be achieved and Arfel H. Echavez (also from CBA) wowed the crowd with a poster that packed a punch, hammering home the idea that food security is a fundamental right and inspires a healthier, more resilient society, aligning with the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition's goals.
CKCM's Nutrition Month extended beyond the school community, it was a wake-up call with students proving they’re more than ready to step up for a cause that affects everyone.
