MARANDING, Lanao del Norte – Students at Christ the King de Maranding, Inc. (CKCM) took center stage during the school’s Nutrition Month celebration last July 30, 2025, rolling out a lively display of talent and meaningful discussion about food security. The event, with the theme “Food and Nutrition Security, Maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin!” wasn’t just another checkbox on the school calendar—it was buzzing with energy, with students clearly fired up about the cause.

Competitions were everywhere: video-making, slogan-writing, poster design—the works. Everyone brought their own flavor, but the message was clear: food security matters, and it’s everyone’s business. Allysa Mae Bolo and KG Miguel Generalao from the College of Education swept up first place with a video that presented their point clearly. Their message is Food and security—always a priority, no debate. Meanwhile, College of Business Administration’s Reyland S. Ebale dropped a slogan that got people talking. “Isang bayan, Isang Layunin. Pagkain para sa Lahat” It signifies that the fight for food security is not solely the government's responsibility, but a collective duty of society—from the government and organizations to farmers and every citizen. Having enough food is not a privilege, but a right for everyone, and through unity, it can be achieved and Arfel H. Echavez (also from CBA) wowed the crowd with a poster that packed a punch, hammering home the idea that food security is a fundamental right and inspires a healthier, more resilient society, aligning with the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition's goals.

CKCM's Nutrition Month extended beyond the school community, it was a wake-up call with students proving they’re more than ready to step up for a cause that affects everyone.

CHRIST-CENTERED MONTH, CHRIST-CENTERED LIFE

On the first day of August, Christ the King College de Maranding held its First Friday Mass.

The celebration began at 10 a.m. serving as a way to welcome the new month with the Lord’s blessings. It was held at Christ the King Church in Maranding, Lala, Lanao del Norte.

The Mass emphasized the importance of God’s guidance in all that we do—especially in our studies, our responsibilities as elected officers, and in our daily lives as we continue to persevere.

It is through grace, guidance, and blessings that we are enabled to accomplish things that may seem impossible to man but are made possible through Christ Jesus.

With this, students and administrators alike are reminded to remain hopeful, strong, and reliant as they continue their journey in service of the Almighty.

A HEALTHY MIND AND BODY LEADS
TO ACTIVE LEARNING

On July 30, Christ the King College de Maranding held its Nutrition Month event with the theme: “Food and Nutrition Security, Maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin!”

With the sun shining brightly, participants from each program gathered at the campus library at exactly 1:00 PM to showcase their talents and critical thinking skills through a poster and slogan-making contest.

The event not only highlighted the students’ creativity and artistic talents, but also their passion for art and awareness of nutrition-related issues.

Nutrition Month encouraged students to be active not just physically, but also mentally, spiritually, environmentally, and emotionally.

Promoting a healthy lifestyle helps reduce health risks and supports overall well-being.

By prioritizing proper nutrition and food security, students become more mindful, physically fit, and capable of thinking clearly and logically.

𝗕𝗔𝗖𝗞 𝗧𝗢 𝗦𝗖𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗟 𝗡𝗔, 𝗕𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗘!! 📚✨

𝙊𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙧𝙧𝙧 𝙣𝙖𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙨𝙖 𝙗𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙩𝙤 𝙨𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙤𝙡!!

And guess what? It’s not just about new notebooks and fresh uniforms, it’s about having the right must-haves to survive every class, every quiz, and every deadline you didn’t see coming! 😅

𝗟𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 👇:

✅ 𝐓𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐥𝐞𝐫 — Because let’s be real, you need to stay hydrated while listening to lectures that feel like forever.

✅ 𝐈𝐃 — No ID, no entry! (kay masuko si guard)

✅ 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐚𝐧 — Whether it’s the scorching sun or a stuffy classroom with a broken electric fan, this is your lifesaver. Bonus points if your fan makes that clicking sound while you’re fanning yourself dramatically. 😎💨

✅ 𝐔𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚 — Not just for rain, but for that crazy heat that makes you feel like you’re walking on the surface of the sun. Plus, it’s a good excuse to walk beside your crush. “Uy, sabay tayo sa payong?” ☂️❤️

✅ 𝐁𝐚𝐠 — Of course, the bag that carries it all, your notebooks, snacks, ballpens, your broken heart, and unfinished homework. Don’t leave home without it! 🎒

✅ 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐛𝐚𝐛𝐲 🥰 — Because let’s admit it, nothing beats that “Good luck sa first day mo baby! I love you!” kind of text. Kilig is life, and it’s the only motivation you need to get through a 7:00 AM class. 📱❤️

So whether you’re a freshie finding your way, a returning student trying to survive another semester, or someone counting down the days ‘til graduation — this is your sign to have your back-to-school essentials!

New faces, new lessons, new chika, and the same good vibes. Let’s make this school year unforgettable, CKCMians! 💚✨

𝗙𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿'𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 is a special time to celebrate the men who have shaped our hearts and lives with their love, strength, and sacrifices.

It's a day to recognize every kind of father, whether 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔 𝒘𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒄𝒍𝒐𝒔𝒆, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔 𝒘𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔 𝒘𝒉𝒐 𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏, and 𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒔𝒆 𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒃𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒈. Your love, strength, and presence matter more than words can say.

Your love may not always be loud, but it is strong. Your presence may feel quiet, but it echoes for a lifetime. Thank you for showing up, for standing strong, and for loving in your own way.

Today, we say it with full hearts:
𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒔𝒆𝒆𝒏. 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒗𝒂𝒍𝒖𝒆𝒅. 𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒄𝒆𝒍𝒆𝒃𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒅.

𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗮𝘆: 𝗔 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗼𝗺

Independence Day is one of the most significant holidays in the Philippines. It is celebrated every year on June 12. On this day in 1898, the Philippines declared its freedom from Spain after more than 300 years of Spanish rule. The declaration took place in Kawit, Cavite, led by General Emilio Aguinaldo. It marked a proud and historic moment for the Filipino people.

Each year, Filipinos celebrate this day with pride and joy. Schools, offices, and homes display the Philippine flag. Some areas hold programs that include singing the national anthem, performing folk dances, and giving speeches. Government officials often lead flag-raising ceremonies early in the morning. It is a day for Filipinos to remember the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country's freedom.

More than just a celebration, Independence Day reminds us of the bravery and love for our country shown by our heroes. It encourages young people to be proud of their history and to work towards improving the nation. As we enjoy this holiday, we should also reflect on how we can be good citizens and continue the efforts our heroes began many years ago.

𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐖 𝐍𝐆 𝐇𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐋𝐀𝐍: 𝐁𝐨𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧, 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐚
