The Social Work Department of PEACI celebrates a remarkable achievement with the outstanding results from the recent Social Work Licensure Examination held on September 8-10, 2025.

The pioneering batch, โ€œMjolnir,โ€ demonstrated exceptional dedication and hard work by achieving an impressive 85.19% passing rate, with 23 of the 27 examinees passing. Their perseverance throughout the examination process has culminated in this significant success.

This accomplishment further establishes PEACI as an institution committed to producing top-tier students.

๐’๐๐Ž๐‘๐“๐’ ๐๐„๐–๐’ | Ursid Ends MIT Curse, Finishes as Tournament Runner-Up

๐๐„๐€๐‚๐ˆ ๐”๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ marked a breakthrough in the MSU Beta Sigma Intercollegiate Basketball Tournament 2025 after finally breaking the so-called โ€œ๐Œ๐ˆ๐“ ๐‚๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฌ๐žโ€ by defeating the Mindanao Institute of Technology in a nail-biting semifinal showdown, 91-89, on August 30, 2025, at Lumba Court, Bacolod Chico, Marawi City. The victory ended their long losing streak against MIT and earned them a spot in the championship game against the powerhouse MSU Sultans.

In the finals on August 31, 2025, Ursid fought bravely but fell just short, bowing to the Sultans, 87-90, in another close contest. Despite the heartbreaking loss, the Ursid capped their run with a proud second-place finish in the tournament.

Through a free and independent press, truth finds its way to the people, empowering them to make informed decisions and safeguarding society from the dangers of silence, disinformation, and oppression.

As we honor this day, let us stand in solidarity with journalists and media workers who continue to face challenges in telling the truth. Protecting press freedom means protecting every Filipinoโ€™s right to the truth. After all, as journalist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Maria Ressa puts it: โ€œPress freedom is the foundation of the rights of all Filipinos to the truth.โ€

Today marks the celebration of our National Heroes' Day to recognize the bravery and patriotism of our heroes who stood up against injustice and fought for our freedom. This was enacted as a holiday as Act No. 3827 on October 28, 1931, known as "Araw ng mga Bayani." We honor their extraordinary leadership, wisdom, and unwavering love, whose legacy continues to guide and inspire us toward a better future.

Let us remember that heroes are not just those who fought for our country but also those workers, farmers, educators, OFWs, and ordinary individuals whose contributions are essential to our society; without their dedication and service, society would not survive.

So let's make this day a celebration of success and progress. Happy National Heroes' Day!

Today, we commemorate and remember the life and legacy of the former senator Benigno Aquino Jr., commonly known as Ninoy Aquino. The man who fought for the independence and democracy of Filipinos and the Philippines.

This day, August 21, 1983. He was tragically assassinated at an airport, now known as Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA). Despite his passing, his words and actions still remain as a reminder for all Filipinos to stand up for justice, truth, and our democratic rights.

Ninoy Aquino stood up courageously against dictatorship; despite all the challenges he encountered, he continuously spoke up and fought for every Filipino who was facing injustice. His contributions have made him a national hero in the country, a symbol of courage and democracy.
